Panzer M4 Speed Pro thread

Just received mine in the mail. First impressions is that it’s well built (hopefully lol), no dings or anything, looks great. I got the black version. Will have to see how it shoots, hopefully hit the range this weekend.

I’ve never owned a Benelli M4, only held one at Cabela’s. I’d say weight is pretty similar, weighs a little less than my Mossberg 590A1. I do have a TNA VR66, which is another Benelli clone (M2), it’s heavier than that.

It came with 3 chokes and a match saver, which was nice as I didn’t know it came with one. The stock was a bit annoying to adjust, wasn’t as smooth as I had hoped for or experienced with other adjustable stocks like the ATI I have on my 590A1.

Will report back if I have a chance to take it out this weekend. Planning on running target loads, buck and slugs.

Does anybody know where I can get the adjustable stock separate. I’m probably going to get the wooden stick version if they don’t sell out by then.

The longer I think about this, I believe if you want one, grab it now while it's NR and before it becomes prohibited.
They have an open slot on the left side, where gas and fire balls can be seen blasting out. I wouldn’t want to be a lefty and certainly wouldn’t be putting a side saddle on these!

I just realized the guy in this video was left handed, and the fire might actually affect righties!

I'll be very curious to hear how much cheek slapping these do. Considering the walnut version.. not as cool but less facial rearranging!

I'll be interested to hear about this supposed break-in period that the Turk semis have. I've had a Hatsan that was excellent from day one and a TriStar that was never reliable.
I have a vanilla Turknelli m4. Put some oil on it.
Didn't clean it. Took it to the range. Eats everything. Probably 500 rounds down the barrel. Goodenuff...

Made it to the range today with the M4 Speed Pro. Fired about 200 rds.

Pros: It lives up to its name, this thing can shoot fast, follow up shots are quick and snappy. For a shotgun, the recoil is not even noticeable, no sore shoulder or anything. I could shoot it all day. I love my Mossberg 590A1, but I wouldn’t want to shoot that all day lol. I fed it target loads, 00 buck and slugs, slugs felt like birdshot.

Cons: It would not feed the target loads I had. I was using Challenger and Rio 7.5 target loads. I have a TNA VR66 that’s also a Turkish clone that feeds target loads with zero issues. I also used 00 buck and slugs with the M4 Speed Pro and they were fine, zero FTF with those. Not sure if it needs a break in period or thorough cleaning. Maybe someone else who has one can try target loads and report back. I saw some people on YouTube say they had issues with lighter loads, while others didn’t.

Overall I’m pretty happy with it. Going to keep shooting it and see if it gets better with the target loads after a further break in period.

Thanks for the update! Did you try any groups with slugs? This break-in thing seems to be the story with these. Might also be good to soak the internals with solvent/ clean and relube. On my Hatsan, one gas port was gunked up from the factory and once that was cleaned up she sang like a Singer.

I was out about 25 yards, and the groupings were good. Everything was on target. With the exception of the non feeding of target loads, everything else was great. It’s really fun to shoot, I still can’t believe how much better the recoil feels with this than my other shotguns.

Did you give it a once over before firing ?
Find any loose screws or anything like that. Anything weird at all.
Tempted to run it as is out of the box. Then give it a once over when I get it.

Just curious on your prefire procedure ?

Paul posted a pic of the speed pro throwing fireballs out the receiver a few posts up, low brass target loads might not be sealing in the chamber properly to really work the action with enough authority to load the next shell.
in what way was it failing to feed?

It wouldn’t cycle the next round, had to manually rack the bolt to eject the shell. Had no issues with buck or slugs.

I’m pretty sure the gas portion of a gas operated shotgun mostly just unlocks the bolt. After that shell pressure pushes the bolt back. There is going to be fire sometimes.
Watch more YouTube haha

Well I received mine today. And what a greasy unit.
That one’s partially on me. It arrived. And we opened the box and headed out the door.

We fired about 100-150 rounds through it and it ran great.
First rounds I tried were 1oz 1180fps target loads. Wouldn’t cycle. Not sure if that was on me or the gun. As we set those rounds to the side and used slugs and buck as “break in” ammo. It liked 1200 fps handicap target loads.
And later on we feed it the 1180fps ammo. It ran. It did have some issues but not many.

What I’ve found with the lighter ammo is hold the gun tighter into your shoulder. Fight that girl. Don’t let it push you around.
Be mindful of this. And I bet yours will all run.

My previous semi was the same. (Kral arms a12)

Not to many gripes. This thing is wicked love the feel. Quality is top notch imo.

I still have to take it apart and clean. But overall. No complaints. I’m sure as it loosens up it’ll only get better.

The loading port would catch the brass on a shell at times. Giving that “full tube” feel.

So maybe just easing off that lip may be in order. As it’s almost sharpened to a point the way the loading port is machined on these

If I think of anything else. I’ll report back. Or if I run into anything disassembling it for clean and inspection.

Thanks.

Whats up speedgang, I didn't get a M4 speed pro, but Dave_D did and that's almost as good for me, as he's my brother and we go shoot often enough.
I don't claim to be a shotgun pro, only having shot the above mentioned kral A12 and my current charles daly 601,
It's safe to say that the panzer m4 is absolutely worth the price tag above the cost of almost any other entry turkish shotgun, what an absolute treat to shoot after wearing it in a little bit, i can shoot my 601 relatively quick, but the M4 with ported barrel is incredible to handle while firing in comparison, throwing in a ghost load isn't difficult and its satisfying pumping out 7 rounds with ease, i gotta say its probably a good thing tenda is sold out of the one i want.

Also, get yourself a james reeves approved fanny pack, OP piece of tactical shotgun equipment

O rings on the gas system are toast.
One came out in one piece but destroyed. And the other one is non existent.
I put in some black o rings I was able to find.
And ordered some viton orings off amazon. (Higher heat)
