Parker hale m82-m87-C3-C3A1 Rifles

Will an epoxy be strong enough to hold the bases for the disconnects in a fibreglass stock. Or are these for wood stocks only.
I like the idea that they are flush when removed for shooting from the bench or off of the pod mount.

Great set of pictures, gives anyone looking exactly what is being talked about.
regards Tim

I had a tour of McMillan Rifles in 04 while i was there at the 2nd Annual Gale McMillan Sniper Match .They used Marine Tex as the expoxy to secure the sling sockets into the stocks I asked them why Marine Tex they said it worked the best

Thanks for that information. I shall get some Marine Tex.

You'd probably have pretty good success with Devcon Steel Putty.

This is the stuff we use to bed the C3A1 into the McMillan A2's - hasn't failed yet. I've used it myself to bed my M40A3 as well - very tough stuff.

D1, I only managed to find one of the sling loops - I remebered I did somebody else a favor as well:D

She should go out soon - just haven't had a chance to get to the post office - backs been bothering me a lot lately. My surgery was for nothing - pain is still there in spades!

Talk to ya soon.

Cheers, Carl

The part number I posted was from Brownell's sight. They are definately Uncle Mike's. You get two swivels and mounting cups for the price stated. Bear in mind it's US$ and there's shipping on top. The site states that these are to be expoxed into position in a specific hole size. There are some very good epoxies on the market...Devcon, West Systems, AccuGlas, Locktite...any of these will do a good job...if you're bedding the rifle use the same material. Great to see that it fits the handstop retainer.

I'm looking for a Mcmillan A2 stock for a C3A1 project....any leads greatly appreciated. Rather buy one here than order from the US. I've post an ad in the WTB Exchange..we'll see what happens.

My C3 Rifle part is done just need to find the right optics for it now. But for now it will have a bushnell 3200 balistic on it. Can't wait to get out and shoot it now.

Pictures are needed here.
Carl:
Now that we know what the drag bag for the C3A1 looks like. Could you tell me if you have a picture of the hard case the rifle was shipped around in. Or was just the drag bag used?
I would like to get both for my rifle if possible. Or heaven forbid try and make the hard case if I can get some idea of the looks of it.

There is a hard case listed in the manuals Part# "1095-21-339-8305" , MFG No "PRO-1750" and MFG CODE "35907". Looks very much like Pelican however Carl might know source as I don't have this manufacturers code. Only seen one in person and it looked like the illustration in the manual.

It is my understanding that there was a wood transport case. I would like to have some pics of it to make a new one. The more realistic I can get the better.

Savage:
In your Pelican case is that the standard spots for the cutouts for the kit. Or is it just where you put them.
In a previous thread Navyshooter said he had some pictures of the wood transit case.I would like to see it also.

The transit case is the Pelican 1750 - in Olive Drab green. Nothing special - it's available in the pelican line of cases.

Reason I asked about the internal layout before, was that I was having a brainfart and had forgotten exactly where exactly the cutouts were. I had a general idea of where everything went, just had a lapse in memory - getting old sucks!:D

When Navy Shooter sent me the pics, I remembered exactly what his wooden case was - it was a locally manufactured case for the competition version of the C3A1(target shooting/CFSAC). This case isn't an issue item, just something they use to lug the rifles around for competition.

The foam is cutout for the rifle, so that it is sitting in the foam and not just on top.

Cheers, Carl

No that's the way the foam came As far as I know .I did modify the scope area and the hand stop but it is marked

What Carl isn't telling us is that the staircase under the Pelican leads down to a storeroom full of mint condition C3A1's that he isn't willing to part with.

Wrong,

The staircase you are thinking about is down 2 more, then in a room behind a 2 foot solid steel vault door is were lay said mint C3A1's..........!:D
