PDW builds - Lets see them, and share results

Hey guys, any cycling issues with those short barrels? I've heard mixed results.

When I called LMT they told me to use hotter ammo with their 10.5's to ensure reliable cycling.

Yup my 10.5 LMT will only run properly with 5.56. I think it's lame that every other .223/5.56 gun I've ever owned will digest anything but the almighty AR won't.

My 10.25 has been 100% reliable through thousands of rounds of the AE tactical and Winchester crap ammo. No high powered stuff needed for me. And it's an Model One Sales upper:eek:, which is not known for quality. In fact, after about 1000 rounds down the pipe I found that the barrel was lose during an inspection. When I pulled it apart I found that they hadn't torqued down the barrel nut at all, they had just spun it on until they could get the gas tube to line up in the receiver. It still functioned perfectly, but it did get way more accurate after I properly torqued the barrel nut! :D

I think with the right combination of buffer and buffer spring weight you should be able to get them to run properly...

Blaxsun, what handguard is that? I can't quite make out the inscription.

My 10.5 LMT has run everything I have given it... mostly AE223... not a single problem.

my 7.5 NEA eats all the americain eagle, remington, reloads, pmc 5.56, norinco,

you milage may vary, but I think most cycling issues with PDW's are gun issues, not ammo.

my norinco 14.5 eats all the ammo just fine too.

Here's a few of mine.

POF P-415 This is the only "complete" (by complete I mean a POF upper and a POF lower) POF P-415 that I have seen in Canada. If anyone else has one I would like to see it! Will also pay a finders fee to anyone that can direct me to a POF P-415 lower that is available for sale in Canada.

PWS 7.62x39 She is a little embarrassed about having her pic taken without an optic, but I told her no one would razz her too hard!

Your forend looks like its not level with your upper ?

I know what you mean, I thought the same thing.

It's because the rail doesn't butt-up against the upper reciever, & it ends with a "notch", not a "riser".

Not sure of the specific nomeclature on those "things"... But trust me, it's level / flat. ;)

* I'm more concerned with the bluish color in pics... Looks very mis-matched, but in person looks very close in color.

Cerakote will solve that though... ;)

Hey Boomer! I think we were thinking alike on our builds...

Aero Precision Lower with Daniel Defence LPK, Generic Cerro Forged Upper, Magpul CTR, Trigger Guard, RSA Sling Point and MIAD Grip; Doublestar ambi sling point, Troy 9 Inch rail, NEA 7.5 barrel and gas block, Dlask XB1. Figure might as well try out an NEA BCG to go with the barrel and gas block set.

Got to run the NEA PDW - a sewing machine of efficiency - balances great with the suppressor - the stock looks & feels ackward until you start shouldering & shooting the PDW.
