Pelican case

Is there any difference between a Pelican brand case and a Storm brand case? Just asking thanks.

I Think pelican bought out Storm a while back. One thing about the storm cases, is the latches used on them are much more finger friendly then the Pelican ones (The one I have for my pistols has one that need to be reefed on to get closed or open). Instead of prying them open, they have a push button.

I would still Go pelican though, a lot more service time, and I already know they work.

I got my Pelican/redhead from BassPro for 199 on sale. Heavy but very durable. And yes it has a redhead logo. No big deal for me because I wanted it to ride the gun in the back of a pick-up truck.

I got a Pelican 1750 for my Remington 700 SPS, and a Hardigg Storm iM3300 for my Timberwolf. Having compared the two of cases I will only ever buy the Storm cases in the future, it is just as durable, the latches are much nicer, and they are cheaper.

My advice is ditch the pelican and go for a storm from customcaseco.com

Can't stand having to ask for quotes but I sent in a request about the storm i3300 and pelican 1750. Will see what they say.. Thanks.

Maybe it's just me but it seems pretty stupid to sell a case without foam, but I guess not everyone buys them for guns.

if its going to bounce around in the back of your truck you need a pelican, simple, I'd recommend a softcase, no foam, and throw the gun in the soft case, then in the pelican, and leave the pelican in the box of the truck. they are heavy and no fun to tote around. If you have a friend who has a commercial account with acklands, that is where you will get the best price.

A gun in a Pelican case with either cut out foam (ideal) or simple facing sheets of egg-crate foam will be much better protected than a soft-cased gun floating/bouncing around in an empty (i.e. no foam) Pelican.

You can buy rectangular tactical cases that secure the rifle inside with straps and are sized to fit inside the Pelican. Slick.
