perfect or best wolf-coyote rig

I'd stick with something between a 22-250 at the low end and a 7-08 on the high end, especially since you're considering wolves. Not to say the 22-250 doesn't have what it takes, but if you make a marginal shot, the bigger bullets of the calibers mentioned by Hoytcanon and others might be able to save you some tracking distance by hitting with a little more energy. I currently use a 22-250, but would like to add a 243 or 25-06 to the arsenal.

A nice stainless 243 with a clip like a savage 16fcss shooting 70 to 90 grain bullets with a 4-12 scope WITHOUT side focus or adjustable objective.

Go to your local ammo store and see what calibers are usually in stock. In NL we are limited to .225 and less, would prefer a .243 as it can handle heavier bullets and would be more usefull for other game as well. My vote goes for .243, .223 and .22-250 - in that order. Availability of ammo is key, all three are great rounds.

local ammo store is a hit and miss then I don't rely on it but thanks.

Any of the mid calibres(24 to 27 calibres) with commercial FMJ's, if you're hide hunting. Mind you, there is no perfect anything. A .223 will do as well.

Sometimes I think Sunray is the quintessential troll and takes side bets with his associates to see how many "fish" he can hook...

That's friggin' assume man!

I'd have advocated the same caliber or a 25-06 (more rifles, cheaper ammo, burns less powder) with a 100 grain Scirocco.

25-06 another good option that I ve seen working well on barrenground caribou and chamois. very good caliber and Sirocco I prefer the name to the penguin lol ...
