I've come into some funds & want a 338lapua ... which one to pull the trigger on? Decisions decisions! I would target shoot & hunt with it!

Desert Tech rifles are way cooler in my opinion, and offer a more technologically advanced platform. However, the PGW is of fantastic quality and executes every aspect perfectly, despite the rifle format being the 200 year old standard. I doubt you would be disappointed with either choice.

If you have other bullpups, go for the DS. If your other rifles are all conventional bolt actions, go with the PGW. I am a big fan of keeping things similar when it comes to precision rifles.

I have a PGW coyote & love the platform ... but part of me wants to try something new ... yet a shorty Timberwolf would be sweet to try out.

DTs are known to have really poor magazines if that matters and I have read that their triggers are only OK, the little bit that I played with one I would agree.

The PGW I fired was nice, they can take any trigger you want.

I think there is a PGW TW on the EE.

Not true on any count... but of you are ever in Ottawa you can shoot mine.

And I have shot many PGW rifles as well.

I would also consider an AI, Sako TRG, or Cadex if I was looking into a .338.

Or give Harley a call at Insite Arms and see if he the components in stock to build you a custom rifle. That would be my first choice if he had parts in stock. Harley is really cool to talk to

The desert tech that I had some time with had less than exemplary fit-finish-qc. Way below what you would expect in a premium-ish rifle. Albeit, it was very early in their availability up here still, left a poor taste for me.

PGW on the other hand... :)

I don't think you can directly compare those two rifles, one is multi caliber switch barrel and the other is not and are in completely different price leagues. If you're planning on hunting, I hope you don't lug them around too far!

The PGW can be directly compared with the other high end factory offerings like the Cadex Patriot-Lite or an AX 338 (not AXMC.) I have owned a Timberwolf and now own a Cadex 338.

The DTA is more comparable to the AXMC or a Cadex Kraken. I haven't used either, but I lust after an AXMC (but can't justify the price premium.) Do the math - Unless you're planning on running three calibers the multi barrel rifles may not be worth the price.

They are all great rifles and will hold their value. If you get a PGW, expect to replace the muzzle brake with something more efficient.

I really like hunting with my DT srs covert, if you’re in a ground blind it handles really nicely in the confined space.
I’ll try to attach a pic later
