picture of our sks

SKS came from my gunsmiths personal collection. (it's not going to see one round of corrosive ammo). It's heavier then the Mosin.

The M44 came from majormarine. I can hardly wait to try it. :)

How come your SKS is heavier than your M44?:eek:The stock is better? Don't use any corrosive ammo, reload your own!!!! Same with your M44! I'm reloading for my 1948 M44. Is this M44's front sight dead on or you need to adjust it?

Yah I'll be reloading for the new SKS, and or simply using the fiochi stuff.

Corrosive is no problem with the M44 as it is Über easy to clean (just pour hot water down the bore really) in comparison to the SKS with all it's nooks and crannies.

I haven't shot the M44 yet so I don't know about the front sight, but I have read that these where designed to be fired with the bayonet folded out.

I need to find reloading dies, and re loadable brass for the Mosin.
A heads up, don't try to reload the white box with the red strip Igman stuff, as people have been breaking their deprimer pins off trying, as the flash hole is too small.

here is mine, the norinco.

They are pieces of crap....why spend money changing stocks .....they still shoot the same......better than a mini 14 but nothing to write home about..

Your just spending good money after bad.......you want a real black gun buy an AR

Shoot the SKS until it breaks and throw it out.......or sell it for parts..

Here is mine......Range guests do sime to smile when they shoot it though

:)

I used to think that when i first got mine.
With surplus "Ruskie" ammo, i was lucky at 50 yards to be able to keep
all shots in an IPSC metric target.
I was given dies and brass so started to make reloads,
and now it is a serious shooter at 50 yards.
No it doesnt shoot dime groups, but i can keep them
in a 4" circle without trying too hard from a bench.
would not hestitate to take it out hunting.
I know of other people that have had same results.

Oh well, might as well ..this is the current family..expecting more soon to arrive from reliable sources and dealers.

Hey Speckfire, nice collection! The top two look like Russians, then a Yugo M59? and then a Norinco. What are those bottom three, I've never one's that look like that. Those black bayonets that fold into the side of the stock are pretty wicked.

Thanks, you're right on those SKS's ..these are my x39 collection. The last three are 2 vz-52-57 and an Egyptian Rasheed

I'm not sure if its a Syrian refurb, but I think it was a refurb bcs the piston has the serial # erased. The 3rd one is a Yugo :)
