Picture of the day

A posed picture in training. This was actually a 37mm gun mounted on a 3/4 ton truck which was intended to be a tank destroyer. Some were actually sent to N. Africa where US troops quickly learned about the shortcomings of the 37mm anti-tank gun.

There's a small museum in Manitoba that has two bullets that intersected each other at 90 degrees in mid air. A local had picked it up off a battlefield in WWI. When you get that much lead flying around, strange things happen.

Numerous cast lead bullets from the U.S. civil war have been found fused together from head on mid air collisions. Upwards of 70,000 men all using the same two-way range at the same time gave ample opportunity for this to happen.
