Picture of the day

This fellow is showing a lot more self-control than I would have.....

Anyway the SAS are everywhere: if I had a nickel for every overweight chip eating Brit that confided in me that he was....(looking over his shoulder) "ex-SAS" ; I would be a very rich man. Just once I'd like to meet a Brit who claims to have served as box stock infanteer or wore a full beard because he was a former Pioneer and proud of it.

You should have asked them what color the boathouse at Hereford was

well you 've apparently already figured it out! So much for their covert operations in Canada!!

I have never met a brit who claimed he was SAS. I have met a a Kiwi who was. He was my brother and I will say no more about that.

Looks like a Carcano 91/41. At least at first glance. The soldier in the background looks to be wearing "Battledress". Interesting.

... I was wondering that too... also why the German soldier still had his watch ... obviously not a Canadian in battledress .. and certainly not a Russian

He looks 4f. Doubtful for him to be a German soldier, think guy wearing a wool suit with brassard. Milice were French collaborators, but the armband is not quite right for Milice. Why wouldn't a Cdn. soldier be wearing battledress?

not because of the battledress - but because the prisoner still has his watch!?! :) :)
