Picture of the day

Seems we have a lot of knowledgeable people here with the pictures.
I'm looking for one of Churchill taken during WW II firing a No.4 Mk.1 Lee Enfield and the caption is : "Prime Minister tests new assault rifle"
It is out there somewhere. I saw it once years ago and cannot locate it again.
Anyone ??

Says he was visiting the 53rd Division in Kent, Nov. 20, 1942.

As for the Tommy gun photos of Churchill above, the photo of him with his hand on the muzzle is taken moments before the famous photo of him holding the gun. Same suit, hat and even handkerchief, so someone suggested he pose with that soldier's Thompson and he did, much to Goebbels delight!

The interesting part of this pic is the cavalryman on the right. Modern uniform from waist up and riding pants and boots waist down. You see this stateside during ww2 in Texas where the only horse cavalry division was stationed during ww2 but this is the first junior officer in ETO I have seen dressed this way. Must have been a proud pony soldier.
I wonder if the photo was 'photoshopped' by censors to remove the image of Patton...and the young guy is there as 'Georgie's' aide. He seems to be holding (presenting?) that carbine very "delicately" to or for someone important...maybe George didn't get the shooting results he would expect as a former pentathlete ..and decided to erase the memory!!

I wonder if Winston ever actually smoked that cigar in public

Tryouts for the new Canadian Anti Aircraft gun that Turdo is buying us. A cooey single shot with a 2 3/4 inch chamber

Churchill was a cavalry man.

Unbeknownst to many, Churchill was a combat veteran who served as a Lieutenant in the 2nd Lancers and participated in their charge at the Battle of Omdurman in 1898. According the his own report, he carried a saber and a 'broomhandle' C-96 Mauser.

Yeah, our PM is "a wuss" who walks through crowds of Canadians, shaking hands, unarmed, with minimal security. Some wuss.

He's had more than adequate, and well armed security his entire life. He wouldn't know what to do without it.

There is a fine line between overly friendly, and foolish. He is probably more accessible than Stephen was... For now. Just wait until his policies start starting show fruition. That will tighten it up like Eddy the Eagle's sphincter through the gate at his first ever ski long jump.

He has the exact number of security in the exact same positions as every other PM. Those billets are Pri 1 and always filled. AND PMs cannot order them away, the team leader has the final say in any situation which is why the former PM found himself stuffed into a closet over his own objections.
