Speaking of the comms, I’m also very surprised to see that Russian cyber hasn’t shut everything off or that they didn’t bother striking communications with cruise missles, etc. They don’t even seem to have gotten air superiority.
Makes perfect sense given the burned out trucks but what really got me was the armor being completely ripped open in a lot of the footage. You’d think a hefty amount of explosives would be needed for that. Unless it’s a result from secondaries within the vehicle.
The Russians certainly seem to be paying the price.

Does it matter?
most soviet armour do not incorporate wet stowage....Unless it’s a result from secondaries within the vehicle.

I’ve been trying to keep up on all the YouTube videos of the conflict. Am I the only one that is scratching my head in regards to how the Ukrainians are managing to destroy so much Russian equipment? I know they have all the trapping of a modern force but seeing lines of destroyed transports and armor leaves me wanting to know how? Well placed artillery thanks to Western-provided situational awareness? Large amounts of man-portable rockets? Anyone care to speculate?
The Russians deployed these forces with almost ZERO encrypted tactical comms. Most of the prisoners are carrying Baofang radios. The Ukranians are literally listening to everything the Russians are transmitting all the way up to the Brigade level. Almost all the destroyed or captured vehicles are found to have no tactical communication systems.
The Russians are good at cyber warfare but thier comms appear to have been left behind the logistics tails this time. They are instead open to DFing due to civilian radios and cell phones (that haven't been confiscated by thier commanders)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Kharkiv used to be Kharkhov, where the Germans met their doom.
Well they may be using anti tank missiles on the AFVs and there may be secondary explosions from ammo on board. I've seen some burnt out hulks and then just piles of parts where the vehicle must have detonated.
