PISTOL CALIBER CARBINES

That thing is awesome!! Wow

The Flux Raider Chassis is a very competently and ergonomically-designed enhancement that makes for a very handy and packable Personal Defence Weapon. That said, there are a few downsides or limitations inherent to the design.

First and foremost is the fact that the Raider is SIG P320-based, which comes with the potential for unexplained and unintentional discharge, although I have never had an issue with any of my 3x P320/M17 pistols. The fact that the Raider adds an ambidextrous manual Safety lever to the P320s operation helps to mitigate the discharge issue by applying positive mechanical prevention of trigger manipulation.

Second is the issue of range. With a 4.5" barrel, the Raider is realistically a 100m gun. And that is a stretch for a handgun enhanced by a 3rd point of contact. My comfortable engagement range is 75m with the Raider, whereas my SMG-based 9mm PCCs with 8" to 10" barrels such as the SIG MPX or B+T APC9 more easily reach out to 100(+)m.

Pros and cons, just like anything else.... Given the option, I'd take a dedicated 9mm PCC with an 8" to 10" Barrel any day over the Raider. Even more capable and thus better however, is (in my opinion) an 11.5" short-barrelled 5.56mm AR15 carbine. A compact AR isn't much bigger than an MP5, and any size difference is more than offset by the capability increase in terms of effective range, stopping power and overpenetration prevention.

Just my $.02....

Then get into these..

Then get into these..

I am not interested in AR15-based carbines/PDWs with a barrel length of less than 11.5" for reasons of reliability and adequate fragmentation velocity/effective range. The LWRC Carbine that I highlighted above has a short-stroke piston operating system, which ensures maximum reliability despite the relatively short 11.5" Barrel. An 11.5" Barrel mated with the right 5.56mm ammunition can deliver effective fragmentation velocities out to 250m and possibly beyond. A 7.5", 5.56mm "Pistol Barrel"? Not so much.... assuming you can get it to run reliably without being horribly over-gassed.

If I need to go with a Barrel length of less than 11.5", I switch to .300 Blackout which stabilizes fine out of a shorter 7.5" tube (9" being optimal) and provides and effective range of 300m with a much heavier .30 caliber bullet. Come to think of it, these days .300 Blk is the ideal PDW chambering for CQB out to an engagement distance of 300m. It provides an accurate and hard-hitting .30 caliber punch with minimal 5.56mm perceived recoil.

Here's one of my .300 Blk PDWs with a 7.5" Barrel:

That might be what they used to think before everything got libtarded. Now we have what we have.
