Please stop posting your hunting videos.

Tiriaq, I am 100% with you. Post all the humane kill videos you want, but leave the gut shots and other wounding shots off the air. When do you watch a fishing show and see a gut-hooked fish? Why not? Because, it would hurt the credibility and image of the pro fisherman. Ever see wounding shots on TV shows? Why not? Same thing.

Actually, showing humane kills might actually help our cause, because it shows a clean, painless harvest. The other stuff amounts to cruelty. Unintentional, yes, but cruel nonetheless, to the average viewer.

There are many hobbies/sports/pursuits etc. that can get ugly when things go wrong.
When they go right, it helps the cause to post the video. Why post the ones that make us look bad?
We're not talking about people posting a video to learn how they can do better, they're just posting cause "FCK YEAH!".
Personally, I think that's stupid. Some people give no thought to the outcome of posting a "bad shoot" video.

Boy, this brings back a memory of me and pah and his one hunting buddy and a trip to as the 'Mericans call it......Victoria Island.
Dad liked them Vancouver Island deer and one journey across the ferry had four deer hanging off the canopy boat rack.
Yup, one on each corner.
Some old gal took to being upset and this image and decided to lay sum werds tuh ole pah.
Oh my, the retort ain't worth posting here.
The end of it was.............don't like it............look the other way.......... (female hound lingo).
Gaaaaaaaaaaaad, I wuzz proud of the old boys gift oh grammer.

Yeah goofballs giggling etc and vids of poor shots is verboten as far as I am concerned. Not my thing to celebrate fails. Went out the other day with the xbow but it turned into an awesome late afternoon sit and listen to the birds change and tree frogs hang out. Serenaded by an owl on the way out. Hunting is to be revered.

so what is the easiest way for antigun and antihunting groups to make gun owners and hunters look bad ?????????

go buy a gun , and a hunting licence and video tape the horror ( writing off the animals suffering as something for the greater good )

then post it online , then get all their buddies to spread it around and denounce it , calling out the evil gunowners and hunters .

As the hunting season comes in to full swing people just can't control their desire to post hunting videos. STOP DOING THIS. Questionable kills are being picked off sites and making the news. As we're all aware things don't always go as planned stop showing what we all know can unfortunately happen. Don't give non- hunters a video record to base their arguments.

What are you? like some sort of ultra cool "Urban" Fudd??!?
Stand by your brethren and quit whining. If you throw the hunters to the dogs you might as well throw in the towel now.
Actually hunting is on the rise in my Province.
It's all about getting new people interested and not about finding new ways to make anti this's or that's ""tolerate" us

"I'm stymied to come up with anything funnier than people who think animals have rights. Just stick an arrow through their lungs."
~ Ted Nugent.
Is that the same Ted Nugent who "adopted" his 17 year old "wife" when he was 30? Has been banned from hunting in two US states for a period of time? And defecated in his pants for a week straight so he'd fail the physical when he was drafted by the US military? You need a new messiah.

A humane kill is one thing, but a suffering, gut-shot critter won't get many people involved in hunting. As a matter of fact, my mother quit hunting rabbits the day she wounded one and it cried like a baby. It never stopped me, but ...

Must be nice to be Canadian and have the luxury of being a nation of moral referees and muse at length about all these liberal sensitivities and sensibilities.
Most of the population on this planet is too busy scrambling for a living to dwell for a single minute on appearances and political correctness.
A rabbit that ventured down a Biafran street would be torn apart by hungry beggars and be over a fire roasting before it had the time to utter a single squeal.

They'll kick a PM and a party that has kept the country on track in the face of down turning global realities because Harper doesn't smile enuf so the spoiled and pampered brats "want a change" on their TV screens.
When Mulcair has the keys to 24 Sussex Drive jingling in his pocket and the Canadian dollar is down to 60 cents American, investor confidence has vanished and the unemployment rate is 15% and rising, and the Canada Pension and EI funds have been sucked dry to buy the gratitude votes of welfare bums and hoardes of new refugees harsh reality will pay a visit to this wonderland north of the 49th.

You dont get new people interested in something by showing them disgusting video's of animals suffering after a pisspoor shot.

You can't teach common sense. I hunt for meat and I also make a partial living off of trophy hunting. When everything goes right, those videos make a nice souvenir to look back at years after the hunt. When it goes wrong ... press the delete button ... and look at your photos instead. The problem is what is acceptable to one isn't to the next ... so we will have to continue suffering idiots without the common sense to figure out the difference between the two.

No kidding! I thought that would have been obvious, but clearly some people on this forum don't have a clue. Nothing positive is conveyed for the sport when video's of a slow miserable suffering death are shown, especially with giddy girl like giggling going on in the background. What the hell good can come from that?

I have filmed several hunts with myself and others. Exactly one has made it online and that was an epic miss of a 15 yd turkey. We strive for a clean kill but when it does not happen as planned the delete button is your friend. I agree some of the stuff online from amateurs and professionals does not need to be there. If you want to become a better hunter work at it hard. Many today don't know the difference between hunting and shooting and bench shooting in no way prepares you for said foray other than sighting in your gun. Stand up, freehand five shots reasonably grouped, and then tel me you are ready to kill what you are after.
My suggestion is try a single shot gun if feasable. Have blackpowder hunted all my life and most of the deer i have shot have been with a muzzleloader. Knowing there is no second shot makes you slow things down and make sure of things. When it does go wrong in this scenario you know you are in for some long, hard, hours fixing your mistake.
Will I ever hide the fact I hunt NEVER but I agree their has to be some self censorship of what goes online with any material.

Anyone who has hunted or been around the hunting scene long enough knows that inevitably, a bad shot on rare occasion will happen.
Anytime myself or my hunting partners have made a mess it is a terrible feeling, something you always remember but want to forget.
I can't imagine for the life of me wanting to record and review video of an ugly shot...let alone broadcasting it for the world to see.

No I'm not some sort of ultra cool urban fudd. I'm a cattle farmer and deal with the life's and deaths of animals almost daily. Standing behind my hunting brethren is /was my point. I,m proud to be a hunter, post as much stuff as you desire, just saying positive serves us better then negative.

Negative doesnt help us at all. It sets us back far more than posative helps us.
