Is it me or do gunsmiths $85 per hour charge worth $85

I'm a business owner, a certified tradesman, and I have a university degree. I have several vehicles, a 2 story shop, and a quarter million in inventory and test equipment. I charge $125 and hour. I have more work that what I care for. If someone doesn't like my fee, then go somewhere else. I pick and choose who I want to work for.

Anyone at any given time can get a student loan, and education, mortgage their home to invest in a business, inventory and tools. You can too.

Just saying...

Simple it will cost 3x that amount to get the tools to re barrel the gun. Tools are not cheap. I know I have diesel tools and well some of those specialty tools ain't cheap.

Then pay the person.

Most mechanics in NS are between 50-90$/HR, about 106$/HR for Diesel.

Really??? Hmm, I know some mechanics in NS. Yes the shop that sells their service may get $90/hr but I can tell you the mechanics sure don't get $90/hr. So if you are going to pipe in, please be accurate.
Yes, businesses charge more than what their employees make, because everyone needs to make $, and there are a lot of costs associated with running a business.
End of.

Thats the labor rate, I know, because I'm unemployed diesel. Starting rate is 14/HR 3 months might see 17/18$ for industrial/marine mechanics. Red seal get about 22 ( truck and transport or heavy )

What do you think you should be paying for a guy's skills that take a life time to acquire? How long it takes is irrelevant. Nor does a smithy get PAID $85 per hour.

TP is over it and has apologized. It is over and we should accept that.

Having dealt with guntech, I appreciate his qualifications, years of experience, fairness, quality of work and quick turn around times.

Since he has always performed specified projects at a flat rate, I never equated it to $$$/hour.

Perhaps a case of mind over matter . . . if you don't mind it don't matter!
