The only place to buy PMags is in the good 'ol US of A. They are evil contraptions in Canada, and mysteryously jump in price by 600% when one crosses our border.
I will die, roll over in my grave before I buy a PMAG in Canada at any of the asking prices the guys want. For $12-$15 you can buy handfuls of them in the States, but due to export laws we can't bring them back.
Wow...you can get P-Mags for $12 to $15 in the US. I would like to know where.
In case you haven't noticed in the us but there has been a change of regime in the US and since there is worry of another assault weapon bill its darn near impossible to guy high cap mags, lowers, uppers barrels, LPKs etc
Check out what P-Mags are going for on Gunbroker . The scary thing is people are actually paying those prices
http://gunbroker.com/ ( search P-Mag )
Your theoretical price of $12 to $15 is BS . I had some US coworkers buy some ( waited 2 months ) and they had to choke up $20 to $25$
I picked up some Lancers last year for $16. Brownells ( who are not know to be Rapist as you call the sellers ) has them currently for $25
Taking the $20 US P-Mag = $25Cnd with current FX . PST / GST comming in you are at $30. By the time you #### with customs / brokerage ( depending on method of shipping ) it can be $10 to $40 for shipment
Don't forget about pinning as well. I know everyone thinks it can't be expensive because its so easy to do. The reality is finding someone who will do it in the US. The ones who do it don't do it for a buck a mag
All of a sudden the $50 P-Mag is not that unreasonable right now
Its real easy to be an armchair importer, but until you have done it ( with all the paperwork etc ) its a pain. I have the utmost respect for the guys like Mark and Questars, Wolverine etc who have to do this every day !
Lets say it cost me $35 Canadian when its all done. Why the hell would i sell it for $40 to make $5. That doesn't even pay my Starbucks in the AM. My time dealing with the paperwork is worth more than what measly profit I can make.
This is why I don't bother brining in AR parts for other people anymore. Not worth the hassle.
