Poll: knife carrying

I've had a Swiss Army knife in my pocket since I was about 5, and I still carry one unless I'm flying. I feel as naked without my Swiss Army knife as I do without my wallet or glasses. My grade 1 teacher actually called my mom to ask her if she knew I had a knife.

Used to pack a CRKT heiho, loved that knife but broke the pocket clip and can't seem to get a replacement. Very unobtrusive and one of my favorite blade profiles to date.

First time to the new Rodgers place, wore my pocket knife to every game up until this last one, but I heard of the new metal detectors so I ditched the knife I had in my pocket at home but forgot about the many coat pockets. Next time(hopefully not) consider burying it in a nearby landscape feature or look for another handy stash spot.
YVR airport has a self mail back service which I've used twice..... once for my key chain Swiss Army and once for a full sized folder.
 
Yup everyday. I work in for a large multinational and while I get the odd look when I use it I usually just say it's easier than a box cutter. I do typically limit the knives I carry to the office at under 3.5" blades that's not always the case.
 
Yup.

I have a Spyderco Endura 4 in my pocket and my issued Gerber attached to my belt.

Opening stuff, cutting stuff, fixing things. I have converted a few people to carrying a knife and/or multi tool daily. They all say they don't know how they went on beforehand.
 
Yup, lil Spyderco is always in my pocket. Got a few others as well. When hiking, or out on the land. Always have that and a Falkkniven F1 with me. Small knife is just handy for tons of tasks. Whether it be opening up cardboard boxes, cutting rope, string,etc. And my Falkniven is just mainly there with bear spray due to lotsa Cougars where I hike to stay in shape. Plus handy for some bushcraft.

Yes, but remember it is an office in environment non trigger puller types, mix of male and female. I carried a Grohmann in uniform for 34 years, no problem but that was in regiment and schools, so I continued to carried it as a civilian working a part time civie job on base. But, yup, the Major called me aside and said that some folks were uncomfortable with me opening carrying it.
 
Nothing like a sharp knife to teach kids about respect for tools and consequences..... I see and hear a lot of parents today worried about their kids and knives and some of these kids are old enough to know better..... if given a chance.
 
Knife carrying

I got my very first knife from my dad at the age of 9 and have ALWAYS carried one. I had one incident I was involved with when I came across a car accident. It had just happened within 10 minutes of me coming across it. I jumped out of my truck to check and see if anyone was in the upside down car and found the drive hanging there from his seat belt moaning. I could smell the alcohol on his breath, as I was assessing his injuries before moving him the car caught on fire in the engine area. So here I am trying to help him then the light bulb went on 'I HAVE A KNIFE!!' so I cut the seat belt got him out and 5 minute later the car was fully involved in fire.
The lesson is EVERYONE should carry a knife!!
