Only common thing around now for shotgun powders are, Perfect Pattern, Tite Group and High gun, which all the suppliers seem to be able to get some stock regularly.
TG and HG, by all the net chatter are one in the same powder, with the HG being rebranded as Hodgdon's newest powder. All the bushing manufacturers list the same identical powder throws for both these powders...right to the 1/10th of a grain in all their own bushings !!
Powder prices have risen dramatically 3 times since Dec ! The first couple times was mainly because of the loonie tanking south of the border,(I was told by the supplier) but now, at our local GS, they've jumped nearly 20 bucks a lb two weeks ago on the new arrivals because of the tariffs !!!!! Was 55/lb..now 75/lb !!!
Lead is now 100 bucks a bag with the taxes...and only a few of the Win / Rem 209's around periodically ...Cheddite primers mainly now.
An 8 lb Keg of TG or HG @ Hummason's was 320 bucks in early Dec. The TG is 380 now....400 for the HG !!
Been using a lot of TG ang HG the past few yrs. My #20 (mec) bushing in my 375 P & W Duo throws 20 .5 grains of either one. This gives me my 1300 fps 1 oz load (reasonably close either way) which I love and settled on !
Lots of data for them on line, even the new Lyman #6 has the data for the PP, HG !
