PRIMERS at 500 per K

$90 - 130 for 1k seems to be a reasonable price range.

I don't know. I've lived though so many primer scares already that I really can't put a value on anything any more. On the last one people were horrified when 215Ms hit 100 bucks a brick; but it really wasn't long after that when I bought them for 135 bucks a 5000 case with free shipping which was cheaper than I paid 40 years ago when I started loading. Maybe this time will be the time when the world goes crazy and never gets back to whatever normal is; but in the meantime auction prices are a pretty good indicator of what people will pay to keep shooting. I have enough to last me the rest of my life and have friends that could stock a good sized store out of their stash if they could be bothered. Whats the right price to pursuade someone to give up their property when they made a decision a long time ago to ever be caught short again?

I see a black market for primers...........and a lot of other things.

Just like everything else this WEF cabal tries to ban.

Soon enough your primers etc will be priceless because they will NOT be available for legal purchase at any price.

Vote CPC.

I have 9,000 sm pistol primers and 6,000 lg pistol primers at home. Do I need that many on hand, no. Will I part with them for what I paid for them when I bought them 3 years ago, also no. I just don't want to part with them. If someone offered me $500 a brick would I take it, ok probably yes... and I don't feel that makes me the bad guy.

Completely agree with your reasoning. OR: I don’t know of anybody that bought a house in W Vancouver 20 yrs ago and refuses to sell it for 10x which is the current price. Crazy not to, right?

this is pure GREED
people need to stop buying and then we will see the price drop down

Not buying is ok if one has a supply, but what would you do if you were down to your last 5 primers ? I think $500 is a bit ridiculous also but I'm in a position that I don't have to worry for a long time.

A friend and I dropped off enough cases of primers at the auction to pop the high end of the auction bubble if its a bubble. At least guys will be able to shoot if they are out. Likely show up on the site in 3 weeks.

If you are flush with money you will buy what you want. If you are on a budget, you will seek a better deal. Dudes who sell high are not selling to budget conscious. There is a market for everything. Mind you most gunners are not willing to get burned, but I’ll bet a few dudes will pay anything to keep playing.
I, by the way am not a seller of primers or powder. I am a consumer......

Yea. I see some CLOWN has some for sale right now on EE for $60.00 per hundred ! Pretty phucking GREEDY ! WTF RJ

"*a fool and their money are soon parted"

These comments amuse me, clearly the average shooter hasn’t visited their LGS lately and looked at comparisons to factory ammunition, I mean you act like we are back in the good old days of $30-$60 per box or 20!

Just run the numbers on what that primer can be loaded into.

Typical match grade factory ammunition of lesser accuracy (for example Berger Match Grade Classic Hunter in .300 Winchester Magnum) is $140 x 1.05 tax = $147 per 20pcs x 5 = $735 per 100 rounds or $7.35 each

Lapua .300 Win Mag Box of 100 = $215
Berger 30 Cal 185 Gr Classic Hunter = $100
Hodgdon H4350 67gr x100 = 6,700gr or 1lb = $90
Federal Gold Metal Match GMM 215M Large Rifle Magnum Primers x100 pcs = $60 (foolish?)

Total: $465 x 1.05 tax = $488 or $4.88 each

With the delta at $247 per 100 the price of primers would have to go to over $300 per 100 or $3000 per brick just to get to on par with less accurate factory loaded ammunition today.

Factor in that the brass can be loaded about 10x and extrapolate to 1000 round numbers:

$215
$1000
$900
$600
Total: $2715 x 1.05 tax = $2,850 for 1000 pcs or $2.85 each

Vs

$7,350 for 1000 pcs or $7.35 each

Still only 38% of the cost of less accurate factory ammo.

Ask yourself would it really matter if the price was $0.06 vs 0.60 meaning $2.31 vs $2.85 a round when the comparable alternative is $7.35?

Well, who is the fool now.
