Slide a cleaning rod down your bore and screw on a 40/45cal bore brush once it's poking out the bore. Pull that brush into the chamber/cartridge then tap it back out toward's the bolt. The bristles might have enough in the to push it out. If that doesn't work pull it back into the chamber but go deeper into the neck area and try to tap it out again.
You might scrap the bore brush but it should come out.
Was it the first time this rifle was shot? or shot with this brand of ammo?
^^^ Done this several tisuggestionsasy peasy.
no I've had the rifle for quite a few months. I shot 500 nato norinco, then 160 or more of tula ammo - which is way more powerful (& why I like shooting it more, but I believe it's made cheap and might be dangerous in the m14 platform. Agree?
Trying to eliminate dirty chamber or still grease in it, But been shooting it so answers that question.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand your posting- it's a bit of a run on sentence. Please explain more clearly.
If you're implying it was dirty, I've cleaned it. That little bits of factory grease in the nooks & crannies would not compromise the function of the action. I just believe that the tula ammo cases are too weak for how hot they are loaded. They put out a huge blast & are very aggressive; violent to the action.
JamesD83, do you happen to know what the headspace is in your rifle? It seems plausible to me that a combination of hot loading, a weak case wall and an overly-generous chamber could have combined to produce the problem.
Well your post was pretty vauge, there was no prior history. Just first round, Blown case. Never said anything about you shot ammo from it before. So I was just trying to figure if maybe dirty chamber or still greasy chamber.
hey guys. I received a .308 broken shell extractor in the mail today. unfortunately it does not work.. "sigh"
Try JB stick weld. I've never had it not work. I seldom ever see a broken shell extractor actually work.
