Hang in there. You may be able to find an old forged norinco bolt for $100 approx., have someone check it out for fit and function though.
Well that won't likely let you down.
Anyone have a canadian source for bolts?
I've scoured the internet already.
I don't care if it's usgi or not.
Thanks
Just received mine after making the purchase online during boxing week sale. Its a M305 short with the reversible muzzle brake. Serial number indicates its made in 2016 and as far as I can tell both the receiver and the bolt are MIM. I am also looking for a forged bolt or might just return it due to safety concerns.
Checked mine I bought back in 2012. Definently cast but the bolt doesn't have the tell tale markings of the MIM bolts. Maybe I lucked out.
You have a 2012 cast receiver but the bolt is forged? Pics?
I was kinda pissed off at Reliable Gun because they sold me the MIM bolt one. Their advice to me was to sell it again. Through them with 20% commission.
Anyways, I ordered the IDF parts kit now and will look to replace at least the bolt ASAP. Maybe replace the barrel and rest with USGI down the line. I'll see if the gunsmiths at Reliable Gun won't have some sympathy and give me a deal for replacing the bolt.
The bolt is cast but I don't see the circles.
Very unlikely. Post pics of it.
Will take some pics and see if I can upload them.
