PX4 vs. Glock??

I got plastic fever. So I'm looking to get a gun in 40S&W.

Are PX4s even available in 40 yet? Every place I've been to only has it in 9mm.

I've looked at both closely, but just can't decide.

Anyone with experience with both please comment, thanks.
 
Glock has over 20 years of service as being one of the most reliable pistols on the market for fairly cheap.

I don't like the trigger on the PX4. Basically it's up to you, go to a store that has them, hold them decide what fits your hand and your wallet.
 
Well, I would take .45 if I couldn't get a 9mm.

I sold my 10MM after I realised no one really carried it. I don't reload either so factory 10mm is basically .45 anyway. Reload 10MM should be .41 magnum specs.

PS: Any ACP round is good in my books. :)

There is a reason for every action. If his answer is simply "because I like 40" then so be it. The reason YYYYY asks is that 40 is an overrated cartridge, expensive, and hard on guns. So unless there's a reason for choosing 40, get a gun chambered in 9mm.

So you're ok with 25ACP and 32ACP? You do realize that ACP is nothing more than bragging rights for Colt who championed the above cartridges, nothing more.

Shot placement is the answer, not calibre.

That sums up the whole stopping power debate better than anything.

FBI switched to .40!!! Etc.

Better to ask you self what gives you the most shots that you can handle skilfully in the smallest package that doesn't compromise accuracy, penetration, no. of rounds, etc. or other personal or operational needs.

Can you shoot the .40 as well as the 9mm? Lets see? Then you tell me what is best.

Well, I guess you could argue biggest too.. But that is what rifles are for!

IF you are just collecting, sure. But then stopping power isn't really in the discussion is it.

No really? I had no idea that .25 and .32 were both ACP cartridges, this is only my first day as a gun owner.

Their is nothing wrong with .25 and .32 for plinking, self defence is something different. Sorry, I don't buy every gun I own to be a self defence gun like you. If that were the case I would make my own little 12 gauge.

You are not the only one in Canada whom has taken "training"

Regardless if we are talking about self defence shooting, or hunting of course shot placement is key.
 
If that is a decided issue than why wouldn't you want 15+ rounds of 9mm in the same space as 8+ rounds of .45? (eg: G19 vs. Commander)

IIRC, the FBI used to use S&W 1006's? Some branches of the FBI carry Springfield 1911 Operators. What pistol are they using in .40?
 
The standard field issue weapon carried by 99% of special agents is the G22 or G23. Personal weapons etc, are frowned upon, but there are other weapons carried "operationally". Agents are also required to qual with the Remington 870, but not the MP5 which they must only show "proficiency in". HRT uses .45, yep.

But they also say so does ODA. ;)

Think operational requirements...
 
It's probably not a really good reason, but my reloading machine lee pro 1000 don't like 9mm at all. And 40 and 45s are a lot better. So since I find shooting 45 too expensive. My choice is naturally 40 and I find the recoil for the .40 more of a push than a snap compared to 9mm. O and more importantly, in IPSC production .40 makes major.

Plus isn't the Px4 designed for the .40?

Anyone wanna tell me how/why 40 is harder on the barrel?
 
Holy ####, what a #### storm. First off, I've shot both. The PX4 is nice but it's not better than a Glock. I prefer Glock over the PX4 but I'd buy a PX4 no questions asked if I had the spare cash. On that note, PX4s are over priced.

I only wish we could have 15+ rounds of 9mm here!!!!
That's why I buy little guns like HK P2000 or single stack.

At least with the P2000 10/13 is less offensive to me in principle than 10/15.

However between the G19 and the PX4 I would pick a G19 since it's a small gun that doesn't look to bad with the 106mm barrel. Plus if you can find 10/15 mags that are pinned you can have a warm fuzzy feeling thinking about moving to the US.
