Had a '91 KT prefix just like yours. Bought NIB for under $800 at the time...

I bought my blued 6" Python around 12 years ago for $1000 in Exc condition from a guy who got it in turn from the original owner who babied it and shot it very little. I've only shot it once using +P 38 Spl. It looks immaculate. I keep telling my oldest son that it'll be his inheritance ONLY after he gets his rPAL. He's currently 13 y.o.

Advice; Most Python owners that enjoy shooting them, mostly only use 38 Special only.
So, that kind of negates the real need for that full length under barrel lug to absorb magnum recoil energy forces.
Therefore if you can find a 6 inch barrel Colt Model 357, you are getting the exact same grip, lock mechanism, trigger and sighting arrangement as the more costly Python.
It's only at resale time that you loose some cash. And guess what? They are a very finely made and accurate Colt handgun.
I actually like to shoot my handguns. Hence I bought a Colt Model 357 and an Anaconda.
my 2 bits only
