chuckshot said:The actual conversion kits for semi handguns are usually just a barrel change.
the conversion barrel lacks the neccedssary features to lock into the slide making the conversion strictly blowback. The cartridge itself has a propellant in it that causes it to telescope(the white ring) and transfer energy to the slide allowing it to function, extract eject feed.
The projectile (small paint capsule) is actually 30 cal not 35 so the conversion barrel also has a 30 cal bore. This design prevents a live cartridge from being chambered in the simunition conversion barrel.
manufacturer has specific recommendations for minimum safe distances and the safety equipment required when product is used for trg.
Yes serious injury can occur from improper use of the product.
Just the technical info for you
We do not use sim. We are certified scenario instructors for the other guys and we can obtain all the product and equipment we want and bring it to the people. There is nothing illegal about this kind of self defense training it is just frowned upon by some provincial CFO's and left wing lieberal nuts who don't trust the people.Wow fun! It does not really hurt if it is just 9mm. Especially with a suit on.Pyroman said:Yeah, the paint bullet is .30", and the back-end is a 9mm cartridge dimensions... just like a .30 mauser... I'd like to test that to see how far the 'fool-proof' goes. I'd like to see the look on the Geezers faces when THAT comes out the end of my Broomhandle!
I've been to the factory in Quebec that makes these (A part of SNC-Lavalin or IVI for you old die-hards) and they ARE pretty cool. The chambers for the conversion kits have cut-outs, if I recall correctly, so that EVEN if you manage to jam in a real round, the cartridge isn't supported properly and the case ruptures out the side instead of sending the bullet squeezed down the barrel. I got to fire a full-auto MP-5 conversion kit, (albeit only at the wall in the shop/factory) and it was pretty cool. The sales-guy said when he goes to try and sell this to an agency, he puts on a padded suit and dances around on the range and lets the agency reps shoot away at him. Having seen what they do, I'd say that's a tough way to make a living...
