R22 Problems? Anyone else suffering?

Talked to RA over the phone 2 days ago and they told me they will be shipping spare parts sets (including new bolts and some barrels too) to TSE.
They will not ship induvidually anymore due to customs problems.
Lets keep our fingers crossed !!!
Here are 2 pics of my (now working) R22 dressed for Christmas.
I know , I know ... the iPod docking station and coffee mug heater will be added later .....

Hi Kasat

a two questions for you

1 how have you attached the mono pod (have you got a swivel stud version or have you fitted a weaver rail somehow?

2 How high is the scope above the barrel there to see over the laser?

Good News?

Rec'd email from Thomas at Rhineland on Wed. Said new bolts are almost ready to go, thought he might ship by end of week. Also have a new ejector (I've already rec'd one from RA), so it sounds like this is an improved version.

Anyone else out there get similiar news or receive a bolt. And if bolt, have you tried and do it work???

My problems are bigger than just a bolt!
Does anyone with a R22 live in the Vancouver area? I would love to get together and exchange notes on how to get this thing to shoot ect..
I'll buy coffee/Beer. PM me
Thx

hmmmmm whens the next batch coming in? - I am sucha sucker.

The R22 seems to be cutting its teeth right now, hopefully a solution will come soon.

Would anyone in Calgary be willing to trade their R22 to me and cut their losses to a minimum?

I have an AR-180B and a Walther P99 I'd be willing to trade. I plan to get an R22 soon anyhow.

OK, teething problems are the best descriptive term.

Mine ran 100% out of the box. However, I had some assembly issues like bolts that came loose, a barrel nut that came loose, and a mag catch roll pin not fully seated. All unpleasant, but easily fixed.

My only real gripe was and is the poor quality of the plastic stock. Rhineland recognize this as a weak spot, and are shortly shipping an adapter to allow a proper G3 fixed stock to be installed.

On the subject of the other users with bolt issues, I really would like to find out if it's just a bolt issue, or if a bunch had dimentional issues with the upper reciever. If one of the funky guns was close by, I'd offer to do hit the range and do some controlled parts swapping.

I will be buying a second when funds permit.

Where could we find a proper G3 stock in Canada?

Also, has Rhineland given an ETA for the collapsible stock?

thanks

In all honesty, I don't think Thom will be able to pull this one off. He'll have to come up with something just a bit different, as the stock collapsible stock ain't going to fit. Perhaps an ACE LTD folder attaced to his adapter???

I placed a WTB ad on the forum here and found a G3 stock within a day.

A guy on arf just tapped the ACE folder assm into the back of he reciever and added the regular skeleton folder.

The ACE would look good, do you have a picture or a link to this?

Where would you locate an ACE folder in Canada?

whos picks are those?

Ive got myself down for an R22 and was wondering how i was going to attach a weaver rail (as the ones ive found here so far are curved underneath). Would be intresting to ask who evers attached that rail

Has anyone heard anything from RA about the new bolts or when they might be getting them out? I am wondering if I will ever be able to use the thing.

Nope, once again my emails go unanswered

I left a message with TSE on the 25th of January and have not heard anything from them either.

I am going in today to talk to them about what the heck is going on.

If I cannot get parts to see if my rifle even Works ( As both RA and myself do not know if the new bolt will fix it) in a timely mannor, I would like a full refund for all of my wasted time.

Damn, that stings. A gun that looks that cool shouldn't have the problems it does. For a while I put the idea of getting one out of my head, but after seeing that, especially with the foregrip... :(

Good hear your gun is not a total waste of money.

I would dare to say it's more pleasing to the eye for me than even the krinker plinker.

I'm going to hold out hope that things may improve for this gun as time goes on, but still. Damn shame about their current situation.

The last I heard from RA, he had to send the new bolts to a new heat treating company, and there was a delay getting them done.

It seems that there is always an excuse from RA. I have been waiting since November, and everytime I call or send an e-mail I get the same answer...they will be ready in two weeks or someone else messed up. I am getting sick of it for the money we all invested we actually got a piece of junk. thats my rant.
I suggest that everyone who purchased one of these defective guns send an e-mail at least twice a week to RA to hopefully put some pressure on them to rectify the issue, and hopefully nobody else is purchasing R22's until the problem is fixed
