RA Release XCR-M Will Be @ Shot Show 2011

I guess we'll see whether or not the M is going to be a solid platform shortly. Then if and when we can get them up here, cause if Robarms has made a reliable, solid, .308 platform, we'll be waiting a while.

well if the first batch are coming to canada, and they are the same price as mentioned, I would think about getting one, but I would need to hear some reviews and accuracy tests first. I dont want to buy something that is going to crap out on me.

That is understandable... I feel the same way which is one of the reasons I haven't jumped onto the RFB-C bandwagon yet the other is I am waiting to see what is going on with the -M...

yea, the RFB is great and all, but it is no good for long range shooting until the longer model comes into Canada. the XCR-M would be better because it is a normal rifle platform which would in my opinion be easier to shoot at longer ranges... I wonder what the M will weigh in at as well, I would be surprised if it weighed a ton.

Just as well I didnt accuse!

Which other business?

Can't remember now, but a couple of guys over on the XCRForum mentioning talking to Alex and took a photo of the Micro pistol and the new ambi safety, also I seems to recall Greentip mentioning dropping by the RA booth and missed Alex or something.

*edit* just read on RA's website that they will have representative there at the show but just not on the show floor, that is just getting weird.

What is this nonsense you are spouting?

What I was trying to say there, is that due to the RFB's short length, it will be harder to stabilize in the field for longer range shooting with a bipod for example. if I have a firearm with a longer length I find it easier to stabilize for longer shots. thats all. this is just my opinion.

or do you mean the weight? kuz I bet it will weigh alot.

First and foremost, the manufacturer should be producing a product that comes from the factory that does not expect the end user to do their quality control and parts installation.

There is no way RA doesn't know that locktite is needed on screw in fasteners, evidenced by the apparent notations in the instructions.

When you buy a new car, or a new bicycle isn't it reasonable to expect that all of the fasteners are correctly installed and will not be falling out with use? A firearm should also be correctly assembled before leaving the factory.

So it is completely reasonable for a customer, especially a Canadian, to be extremely agitated when their $2500 rifle has parts falling off, but a $500 Norc can be forgotten about and rarely does anything ever go wrong.

When a manufacturer, or business decides to make such an arrogant comment about how their CSRs are to be treated, you would think they would ask themselves what the problem with the rifle is to be receiving so many negative calls, instead of taking it out on their customer base.

It is unlikely that the XCR will ever be more than a novelty sporting rifle. I like the XCR, it has some some interesting features, but it can also be said that it is a bland rifle and that the only reason it even sells in Canada at the exorbitant price that it does, is that it is non-restricted. As pointed out by many others, if the AR was Non-Restricted... the XCR probably would have never made it to Canada.

I really liked the renders of the XCR-M, but do to RA's policies in regards to their customers there is no way I will ever purchase a RA product.

I don't own an XCR anymore, even though I loved it, I needed the funds for my bullpup craze.

Anyways you guys should see the motocross bike market. You buy a new bike, and half the bolts rattle loose and you have to tighten your spokes for the first couple of rides. Most riders realize however that any mechanical device can fail, and bolts can loosen over time.

Alex Robinson is a ####ing dip####. Not for the customer service thing, but because he continually slams other products. But the whining here by cgners about the XCR bolts is just lame.

yep...I agree

Great point about the motorcross bikes. Somehow we've all just learned to tear our bikes down, grease em and put them back together without crying about it. The rest if the world lives in a matinence free environment, they don't get it. Whadda ya mean I gotta check the oil and your not covering my motor under warranty. It never leaked a drop in the whole 5 years since I bought it.

well the bike thing is they are loctited initially, its just that because of the vibration of the bike things come loose (excluding the spokes). spokes need to be tightened and adjusted periodically throughout time to ensure that there is equal force on all parts of the rim and spokes or else the rims deform etc. Every nut and bolt on a bike should be checked quickly once in a while to ensure that nothing will fall apart, but this is due to the rough environment our bikes deal with. I think the bolt thing on the XCR is lame, but it is like a bike like mentioned earlier.

sorry I just realized I was being a smart ass there..

but yes it is analogous to a bike :D
