I just finished getting off the phone with RCBS for the third time, after being promised warranty parts on an RCBS press.

Twenty minutes on hold this morning, talked to 3 separate people including a supervisor today, and was not even able to reach a customer service person who could give me any information.

Instead, all that I got was a vague promise to return my call in 24 hours.

To put this in perspective, I initially contacted RCBS on April 4 and was promised that the parts would be sent.
They did not arrive, so I contacted them again on April 18, and was promised a second time that these parts were being sent.
Today, April 30, I was unable to even reach a person who was willing or able to help at all.

That's 3 1/2 weeks, and I still don't know if the parts were ever sent, because I can't get through the RCBS firewall of indifference to find out.

I always liked this company in the past, but their so-called warranty and customer service means nothing anymore.

Taking this into consideration, and the fact that their presses are made in China now, I won't be buying anything that they produce.

Redding quality is far superior, and who needs to be crapped on by false promises of quality and standing behind their products?

If warranty means anything to you, don't waste your time with RCBS anymore.

which is why I buy only Dillon products.
I send an email and parts magically appear at my door. No cost of shipping, no bs, no hassle, they ship any broken part to me, for free.

I have requested - in 4 years - parts at least 3-4 times and every time is 100% satisfactory.

my 2 cents.

that's not the norm, I've always had good customer support from them in the past. Weird.....

Obviously it must be the norm in many cases.

If it's happening to me, it must be happening to a number of people.

I did everything right.

I was polite. I was patient. And, I did not criticize or complain. I did my best to just give them a chance.

And, their service just got worse to the point of non-existence.

RCBS has always been 100% with me as well as Redding..........Harold

I will be dealing with Redding in future.

Their products are superior and made in the USA rather than China.

Perhaps in the past RCBS was a good company to deal with.

But, something has changed.

They suck now.

Believe me, if I had gotten good service from them, I would be praising them instead.

Even speaking to a supervisor did not result in any assistance, or even looking into whether the parts were ever sent.

Just polite but stubborn stonewalling.

Wait for a callback within 24 hours. Take it or leave it (literally). Even after I explained the whole story to them.

No matter how you look at it, that is terrible customer service.

ever try to deal with Hornady CS or techs?

last time i asked RCBS to get some part for the hand primer the parts were shipped but it took 2 months to get them shipped here.

I have pretty much all rcbs equipment. In 30 years I've only asked for new "v" blocks for my scale, and I'm not even sure they were required. One phone call and they were promptly sent at no charge for a 30 year old item.

That's my experience, and in other threads I've read on here I'm not alone. Sorry about your luck Lonesome Donkey.

RCBS have allays given me good service, when I have needed to claim warranty its been a simple phone call or email a picture with the problem, I will agree it takes some time to get to me which can be 5 to 8 weeks but parts arrive, last time I needed some parts for the progressive press was February and they were good at that time

If I had a request in for parts on warranty from April 4th I would not expect anything until mid to late May showing up.

:agree: RCBS's warranty service is second to none. I have had them ship stuff up from the USA that's not even a warranty claim (read: de-capping pins I broke). They are awesome!

Sorry, but that has not been my experience.

And, if I am getting bad service from them, others must be too.

If some have been getting good results in the past, who am I to fault their good fortune.

All that I can do is to tell you precisely, truthfully, and exactly what happened to me.

I have no axe to grind, and I would be happier to report excellent customer service, if and when it happened.

But, it most certainly did not.

LD.........I think maybe your expectations of time frames is unrealistic.........as usual warranty replacements take a few weeks as many on here have already told you, you're talking a few days. Maybe I could suggest you give them some time to react to your request, before you go about besmirching their reputation regarding warranty. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with RCBS warranty, EVER, in the 45 years I've been using their equipment and the same time frame for many of my friends.
Lyman on the other hand won't even answer their phones or acknowledge my e-mails, EVER...........

I waited 6 weeks for some parts to be shipped to me from RCBS once. 6 weeks just for them to put them in the mail. It was brutal. Some nonsense about how they were doing inventory, and even though the parts had already been pulled and were sitting in a box ready to go, they couldn't ship them. Apparently inventory takes a long time......
Even after they did ship them, no tracking number. Although at that point the 1 week they were in the mail was trivial

Lee on the other hand: i called them and told them i broke 2 parts and wanted to buy new ones. They suggested i take pictures of the broken items and email them in. Less than 24 hours later i had a shipping notification with tracking number.

I like the colour red anyway ;)

Never had an issue with RCBS warranty myself. Always fast and easy.

All it takes is one idiot customer service rep to fill out the ticket wrong to mess things up.

Hope they square you away without too much more grief.

Just completed another call to RCBS. They accepted a parts list from me for warranty parts. I have a uniflow powder measure hopper that is cracked. Most likely by me. They are replacing it free anyway. They lady told me that my old cap won't fit the new uniflow hopper so they are sending a new cap as well. I have another uniflow that is not cracked but is an older version. She said they would replace the hopper and cap on that one as well. Free. That is the kind of warranty service I have come to expect from RCBS. Sorry the OP is having issues. RCBS parts take a while to get here, usually about a month for me. She warned me that it takes some time to get to Canada. They just send it regular mail. However, I don't care as some of the parts I ordered are for equipment they don't make any more and without them I would have to buy expensive, new equipment. I would just be patient, the parts will show up.
