Rcbs sucks! Warranty? Forget it!

Never had issues with RCBS warranty, usually have my parts within a month but then its been a few years since I've had to use their warranty which is what happens when you buy quality.

Now redding on the other hand, I personally have had a number of FL sizing dies recently that were not machined properly, out of round or off centered or not to spec etc (all confirmed by gauges and/or gunsmiths), they never ever did respond to any of my calls or e-mails. I also don't like the Redding expander buttons as they don't put enough taper on them and thus don't easily align themselves going into the case mouth and I hit the rim of the mouth on the bottom of the expander and stops everything dead, I then have to lift the handle back up and help guide the case by hand, never had to do this with any other die brand. I gave up on redding and threw them in the trash and bought RCBS.

I have never had a problem with any of the companies that sell reloading gear. Anything that was defective has always been replaced with no charge, either for the part or the shipping. RCBS has been outstanding in the regards that they have updated die sets that I had purchased used and were dated 30+ years ago.
I also had 1 full length sizing die that was not machined properly as it would not size a brand new unfired case without the case becoming stuck. They requested that I send them the die along with 3 fired cartridges from my rifle. They re-machined the die so that it barely does anything to a new case and sizes a fired case perfectly for my rifle.

Send me the broken RCBS bits and I'll claim the warranty...
WSS or Cabelas has parts if their use is needed immediately...

If one is looking for warranty horror stories ask anyone who has owned a Ford Power Stroke 6.0L Diesel for their thoughts on the truck.
Retorts of thats normal wear and or thats a consumable product and therefore no warranty claim from the Service Writer , not the Service Manager making the call.

Now, if it where to be something as large as the frame of the press or the handle of said press then yeah there is something wrong.

RCBS has been good in the past sent email about various items and got reply stating will send parts no charge. That said it can be weeks before they ship. Same with Lyman.
I did call once to get part numbers for parts for a 20 year old press. these were parts I had misplaced in one of my various moves. They gave me the part numbers and told me they would ship no charge. again it took a while but they came no charge.

I have had zero issues with RCBS

Sent me a new 308 precision mic kit, when I called and said one piece was broken,

And sent me capping pins when I just merely mentioned that I was short a couple.

Lee and Redding too, zero problems, when the call needs to be made...........

Bought an "allegedly-no-support" Lee used press with some broken parts from the EE. I had to pay for the shipping, but the parts were free and in my hands less than a week later, all just by ordering online without having to talk to anyone.

Waiting 3.5 weeks is a joke imho. Waiting 8 weeks literally means I would have extra of everything.

LD.........I think maybe your expectations of time frames is unrealistic.........as usual warranty replacements take a few weeks as many on here have already told you, you're talking a few days. Maybe I could suggest you give them some time to react to your request, before you go about besmirching their reputation regarding warranty. I have never heard of anyone having a problem with RCBS warranty, EVER, in the 45 years I've been using their equipment and the same time frame for many of my friends.
Lyman on the other hand won't even answer their phones or acknowledge my e-mails, EVER...........

Again, I should point out that I contacted RCBS on April 4th and they promised to mail out the parts right away.

On April 18th, I contacted them and they confirmed that they had NOT shipped the parts at all.
From that conversation, I gathered that the parts might never have been shipped, had I not contacted them.

Today, I could not contact a customer service representative at all after waiting for twenty minutes on hold.
Even after speaking to a supervisor, after another 10 minutes on hold, she could not tell me anything about the parts, was unable to transfer my call to anyone who could help, and simply said that someone would call back within 24 hours.

Status: Still waiting.

And, I did not have expectations of a "few" days as you mistakenly claim.

I waited two weeks after first speaking to them before calling them back.

And, when I called today, it was nearly another 2 weeks.

So, after waiting nearly a month, and having them forget to ship once, and not even being able to speak to someone in customer service on the third contact, after a half hour on hold, I think that anyone would regard that as crappy service.

Nope, not the frame. Just some small parts.

Take a deep breath, and slowly count to 100 while jumping up and down. Before you know it all the sand will fall out and you will feel much better.

I had an RCBS hand priming tool that was missing parts.

I called them and spoke to a representative... he sent me the missing parts ....free of charge ...free shipping...

Was excellent + customer service in my experience...

Sent me a new swaging pin I bent....the dies are from the 80's. Took a couple weeks but it arrived, free of charge.
All good in my books.

Lonesome Donkey

The earthen dam above the RCBS facility in Oroville California collapsed and flooded the valley.

RCBS has always had good customer service, but they are trying to get back on their feet.

I imagine many of the people working at RCBS lost their homes and RCBS is not fully manned as yet. Also many bridges were washed away effecting shipping and transportation.

"In February 2017, Oroville Dam's main and emergency spillways were significantly damaged, prompting the evacuation of more than 180,000 people living downstream along the Feather River"
