I've searched these forums extensively, and if I've missed it, please let me know.

That said, I'm planning on building a clone of the RCMP's C8 (patrol carbine).

I've found a list (www.buyandsell.gc.ca/cds/public/201...fe15/ABES.PROD.BK__HN.B460.E62446.EBSU000.PDF - see pages 31 and 32) of all the components their armorers are using to equip their patrol carbine, and have already started off with buying a Diemaco / Colt Canada C8 IUR.

My current challenge is sourcing all the 'upgrade' parts needed to complete the build.

Has anyone out there attempted this kind of thing? I'd really appreciate a hand with finding a 'one-stop-shop' for all the parts. Maybe one of the retailers out there would be willing to put a package together? SFRC: you did me well by starting me with a canvas...

As of now, I have a list running where I'm having to source things (literally) from all-over...

Looking on Social media and seems like the configurations varies between Provence. Ive seen them with vertical grips, rail systems, no rail systems, 15.7" barrel, 11.5" barrel. Irons, Aimpoints, Fast Fires, Eotechs.

The local ones are monolithic uppers, 15.7" barrels, Aimpoint Comp 3 and I think Troy sights. Not sure what flashlight mount was used.

Hmm... can't say I like how the RCMP have chosen to configure the IUR patrol carbine. Particularly the front sight. Why not either use a standard C8 sight, or alternately, go with a rail mounted BUIS. Clearly the optic is the primary, that flimsy front sight design just looks too fragile for real work. Equally perplexed by the Ergo Grip and LMT SopMOD. It's like some guy at ERT just specced out his personal favourite rig, no allowance for the average member who might have smaller hands or prefer a narrower cheek weld.

A CTR butt and an MOE grip would have been far more universal.

Oh well. I'm not the RCMP's firearms life cycle materiel manager.

....when the taxpayers are footing the bill ; anything goes....

No. ERT have different configurations but the Patrol Carbine issued at the Detachment level are all identical.
