Rem M7 BUILD

Standard .22-250, 22" barrel is plenty for a light rifle... should be nice with the heavier bullets.

I would go with that suggestion. How heavy a bullet do you want to shoot?

My original 22-250 would stabilize 60 grain Sierra HP. When rebarreled with a 223 1 in 12 twist the spin off barrel was 26" so went with that and it still works with the 60 grain bullets.
Nosler lists the standard fast twist for 77/80 grain bullets but is silent on those bullets in the AI but the standard loads would still be a good starting point.

Eagerly awaiting your results.

Like i said on your other thread;)

Had a 22-250 AI

It was kinda cool, very fast-but I don’t see the point of wildcats or AIs anymore.

22CM is a better option right now.

I might chop my 22cm down from 26" to 20", 3000+ fps with 88gr ELD will still be possible

I can't think of a good reason to go 22-250 or 22-250AI over the Creed. You can buy Hornady 22cm dies for $80, Hornady and Alpha brass. It's a good one with a 7 twist

Right on but i think i will stay with 21 & 15/16 " ! :p RJ

The 22CM has a parent case of the 6mm CM, which has case capacity of 51gr, the 243 case as a parent case for a 22 Middlestead has a case capacity of 54gr I think. How is this "new"? I know bullet selection favored some of the metric calibers, but now that heavy bullets are available in more calibers the exercise becomes only that, an exercise? I read an article the other day about the 25-06 having the ability to shoot farther/flatter than the 6.5, but 25-06 doesn't sell rifles?

Chuck Hawks?

No, this one:

and this one:

couple of interesting articles for sure. There is so much overlap in cartridges today, it would be nice to see comparison chart. I know that there are definite benefits to some of the new cartridges, but off of paper, and certainly the interwebs, I'm not sure how many could tell the difference or advantages in real world use. I'm all for long action performance in a short action rifle though.
