It got scratched!!!:D

Nobody in the city had brass so i had to buy some ammo. Once i blow away the 85 grainer factory rounds its 120 grain Nosler partition time. I read somewhere 7mm rem mag brass can be used. Anyone try this??

...............never mentioned getting a MkV.

..................Lets hear it now, i suppose this gun is junk right??

...................................Better than the Rugers i have owned but not quite as good as my Win 70. It still breaks fairly clean. Its a heavier gun than i would have suspected as well.

That doesn't look like a VXIII in Talleys. The nancy boys aren't going to be pleased about this. :D

BTW ...... Nice rifle! I like 25cals. :)

i had an itch aswell and scratched it in carberry saturday. i got a mark 5 synthetic. i couldn't find loaded ammo anywhere so i got some 7mm brass and ran it into my die. then fire formed using the cream of wheat method.

the 7mm brass worked great, but is about .020 shorter than book trim to length.

i loaded up some 100gr hornady sp with H1000 powder.

................awesome thanks RMK!! That is handy to know.

................Paul, Talley's and a VXIII were outta the question. I walked outta there today 1300.00 poorer including reloading supplies.:D

The 270 Wby isn't nearly as overbore as the 257, so it shouldn't require as much barrel length to burn all that slow powder. But hey, anything's possible! Let us know how she chronys, if it's good I'll pick one up :)

You misunderstand .... While I do use Talleys and VXIIIs, I don't think they are the ONLY scope/ring combo out there, as some would. I was poking fun at those folks :)

Very nice choice. Exact same one I have. We will have to swap load info. BTW, recoil is almost non existant (less than a .30/06) and even with the 24" tube, it will still handly outperform a .25/06 with ease.

I just couldn't stand being left out, so I bought a low-mileage black on black Mark V .257 Weatherby about 20 minutes ago and will pick it up one of these days. It's been a few months since I bought anything, and I already know this one ;)
Now, what to do with it? I'm thinking of letting my 11 year old play with it, for $650 it's hard to go too far wrong. Dogleg
