Remington 597 Magazine options

I've never owned a 597 but I have an SBI adapter and 1 x 30rd. ProMag drum. Cool looking/fun to have 30 on deck but loading time is slow and function is inconsistent. Honestly? Not worth it. If you're actually volume shooting, I've found the payoff isn't there. More in the mag+more time to load=no advantage.

The mag itself? Well thought out, rounds move through it fine...something about the feeding is problematic.

I tried CCI Quiet Semi-Auto and it worked pretty well. I think it shoots just over 800fps. Not that quiet compared to standard TBH. I also notice CCI Standard seems a little bit more reliable in both the 10 rd and 22rd mags.

Id also love a few 10 rounders. They are impossible to find from what I can see online.

Maybe it's too heavy and the extra weight makes it sit slightly too low? You could try a stronger mag release spring to put more force on it and make it sit right. Tandemkross and Kidd sell them... maybe other companies too.

Reviving this old thread, as I've been looking for a factory one as well.

It appears as though a company called "United Defense" in the USA is making improved 10-round metal reproduction magazines, available on eBay. Unfortunately, no shipping to Kanukistan. Perhaps one of the dealers can bring them in...?
