I guess I get to live in a realm of understanding most can't grasp.
I get that it's for close in work. Just wonder if you had ever put them across a chronograph?

Beautiful rifle! What kind of ballistics do you figure the 308 has out of 12.5" barrel. I thought it fell off dramatically when the barrel was shorter than around 20 inches?
I'm reading write ups with 150gr at 2500fps and 165gr at 2450fps in 13" barrels recommended powder is IMR4895 but not H4895 I would try Varget.
I used a Shooting Chronie for over 25 years and now have a LabRadar
The 14" barreled 309JDJ with 150gr bullets in a T/C Contender I'm looking at buying right away runs on much lower pressures than a 308 bolt gun is supposed to get 2600fps with 125gr/130gr bullets, 2450fps - 2500fps with 150gr bullets and 2375fps with 165gr bullets I'd get a 1-12" twist though..

IRUNGUNS US website has the brace version which should be NR for sure.
Doesn't it have the brace because it is considered to be a handgun?
If it had a stock, in the US it would be a short barrelled rifle, and subject to the US NFA. The brace means it is a handgun, and not a rifle.
The trick is to get it into Canada classified as a rifle and not a handgun.
laws are different here and there.
If that brace makes it 26" OAL or greater its NR by definition in the law. Doesn't matter what the americans call it.
Wrong. There is no OAL requirement for NR. Being a bolt action it shouldn't matter what length it is. It hinges entirely on whether the rcmp class it as a handgun. We have the mares leg as a good example. Are there any bolt guns classified as handguns currently?

Me too!I want one, but I’m holding out for 300BLK
We will reach out to SSFS on Monday to inquire about a rifle status should the overall length be 26". The Manufacturer sells that firearm in the US as a Bolt action Pistol and as such the RCMP most likely followed suit.
