I am doing a build on a new Remington 7600, 22" .308. It'll be a "generalist" rifle. After I test it, if it's OK, I'm going to have the barrel chopped to 18.5" and threaded to 5/8" x 24 for an A2 bird cage.
I'll keep the OEM irons and run a PA 1-6X FFP illuminated scope with a .308 ACSS reticle in low QD rings.
Sling will be a two point. Maybe keep it simple and run it off a barrel band at the front.
I will be trying out a Mambamag magazine in it for reliability. Otherwise I will just stock up on Remington 4 rounders.
For spare parts I assume the weak link is the plastic dust cover. If anyone knows of a source for metal dust covers like what Numrich has on their website (out of stock) I'd appreciate any tips. if it's not available I'll pick up a spare plastic cover or two.
If anyone knows the proper O ring size for the pump body, please let me know.
If there are any other parts I should keep in the kit, please let me know.
Thanks for any advice or tips!
