I for one am waiting for pictures ! I would like to get a stable of the Classic models of the Remington 700’s .
I’m not sure when they first started manufacturing them
Mine is a Remington Classic 700 in 30 06 . Purchsed in hmmmm 1989 I think

Just sold my last Classic to a Bud - 1986 M700 in 6 mm Rem 🥲
Sold my M700 Classic in 350 Rem Mag a couple years back now . 😢

I have owned a lot of 700 Remingtons over the years. Many have been the BDL "Classic" models. Still have several:
257 Roberts, 7x57, 30-06, 8x57. Also have some "builds" on 700 actions: HB 6mm Remington; 2x 308 Norma Magnums;
8mm Remington Magnum. Most retain the Walker trigger, but a couple sport Triggertechs.
I have been shooting and hunting with 700s since 1963, and they have treated me well. Dave.

I only have one R700 left. Tho i have several rifles on the R700 action footprint.
This one is a frankenbuild with the action from a CDLSF and the 18.5” barrel from an sps, cut crowned and threaded by the excellent Guntec, bolt threaded by PR Precision, bottom metal from a 5R, and now sitting in a vintage 70’s stock.

It hammers!

New gun looks great. Keep us informed how the new production Rem700's are, when you get out and get some trigger time behind it.

I was going to buy a new youth model in 7mm-08, but I held off.
I’ve shot it a fair bit now. Will have it out this coming weekend and will get some more pics. I’m very pleased with it. Not a single issue, have about 100 rounds through it so far. I have a Colt Canada A2 birdcage on it now (had it laying around so why not). Shooting five round groups into 1” squares without breaking the edge with hornady 75gr match. Green tip opens up to an inch and a half to two. Great rifle, compact, accurate, not lite but not wicked heavy either. Couldn’t be happier especially considering tendas sale price when they had them.

That's great to hear. And a hundred rounds down the tube is usually where factory rifles settle down, are broke in, and really start shooting good. I like having a hundred rounds through a barrel before getting too serious about load development.
