or just google it and educate yourselves...and keep you and your loved ones safe...

Good luck.
Stay safe.
But not with anything called a remington 700

You are a moron or a troll.

The 700 is the strongest safest 2 locking lug action ever produced... no one can control where a shooter points a muzzle.

Two in the safe at the moment:

First an SPS Tactical in .223, B&C stock, Triggertech Primary, Strike Eagle in MDT hardware, PR Precision bolt knob, SA cartridge holder:

Eventually I'd like to rebarrel and drop it into an MDT LSS with a Triggertech Special, move the Primary into this one:

Just an SPS Youth model .243 that I'd love to drop into a Grayboe Trekker stock eventually.

Both shoot amazing (the Tac is nearing 1500 rounds now), the Youth model has janky ejection that I'll have to deal with this spring. I've probably owned a dozen or more in total now, and would love to do a .35 Whelen on a 700 as well at some point.

The 700 isn't know as a killer. Yes some people have been killed by someone using a 700 ... and in many of those case the "scenario" could not be duplicated... but that doesn't make "news".

But for you to come into this thread with nothing but negative old news is trolling.

***A troll is Internet slang for a person who intentionally tries to instigate conflict, hostility, or arguments in an online social community.

So why don't you simply leave...

SEE inserts above.

Negative Factual News...remington 700s kill people.

Quote....a person who intentionally tries to instigate onflict, hostility, or arguments not inflicting or pursuing either. **I am not....You are.

My Goal is to warn/make clear that the remington 700 actions are not safe. have a gross reputation for firing without the trigger even being touched.

this is not a firearm anyone should use or own.

for safety sake. wake up bud.

last rifle I ever want a loved one to own. I will never even hunt with a person who uses one....period. bye. good night.

I have no receiver cam marks on the bolt handle cam surface of my open country death rig. None on my model 700 270win Bartlien custom either. Never had a problem getting brass out these guns and I normally don’t pussy-foot around with my hand loads either.

I had the dreaded extractor failure with my M700 .300H&H... right after I had put a round into a bull elk. Dammit!

The elk staggered to it's feet, I was gonna get an easy follow-up shot. Nope... damn extractor had broke!

So while the elk was recovering it's feet, I was searching for a long slender branch to poke down the barrel, to knock out the spent shell.

And of course by the time I got that shell knocked out, the damn elk was tearing off down through the timber.

And it just kept right on going, as elk will do, and of course it crossed a fence onto private posted land.

Nothing I could do except send that rifle to the smith (actually just mailed the bolt) to get a new extractor installed.

I own quite a few 700 Remingtons. They are great actions, and the rifles
tend to be very accurate. I also have 3 or 4 customs built on 700 actions.

Below is a picture of one. A Leeper-built 308 Norma Magnum. McGowen
barrel, Remington Custom shop lumber. All trued up and bedded. This is
a ½ moa rifle with the 180 Scirocco II and 7x grains of IMR7828. Dave.
