You should be able to use ballistic tables to adjust your scope to the proper point of aim... then just go at it!

What you might be thinking of is you want your body to be supported by bone.IE when standing, legs shoulder width apart, knees solid, elbows tucked into you body so that the muscle in your arms is not supporting the weight of the rifle much.Same goes for kneeling and sitting.Rohann said:Really? I always thought (and read) that you wanted bone on bone, as the muscle will not tire or twitch (i.e. when shooting prone).

Ohh ok, thanks for the clarification. That's strange; I could have sworn I read something about bone on bone in a Carlos Hathcock book, but it may have been that you shouldn't rest bone on bone. I'll try that out though.Longshot said:What you might be thinking of is you want your body to be supported by bone.IE when standing, legs shoulder width apart, knees solid, elbows tucked into you body so that the muscle in your arms is not supporting the weight of the rifle much.Same goes for kneeling and sitting.
However, when you are resting the rifle on something, including yourself, you always want the rifle on something soft. When you fire it will move more and make it harder to bring back into line for another shot if you don't.
Rohann said:When is the rifle most accurate? In colder weather such as this, is it better to shoot, and continue shooting before the barrel completely cools down (wait about 1min in between shots)? Or is it better to shoot completely cold-bore?

When I get a scope back on my HS and get it zeroed out, I'll join in.
