Well, took my Stevens in 223 out to the range today. About 5C, quite calm and clear. A no excuses kind of day. Shot the targets which apparently I can't post until later. Hit some, missed some.
75gr Amax over H4350 and CCI BR4 primers.
Now I did CHEAT!!! I used a Harris bipod and no rear bag but shot off a bench. Didn't feel like crawling on the frozen concrete (hey, at least I got out).
From my very limited time using a bipod, it is way different then shooting off pedestal rests. It is much harder to be consistent and I got some real fine SCHWINGS. Also, POI changed quite a bit.
Overall, this was a lot of fun and the challenge of shooting off a wiggly bouncy thing has me very intrigued. That will be the challenge for me this year - taming the bipod.
Thanks for the targets Jamie and look forward to the more formal comps. Pics to follow.
Jamie, how did you get those pics of fozzy's targets on the post? Did you scan them?
