Removing M14 flash hider

Remove the set screw and back off the castle nut with castle nut pliers.
Get a BFH and a 10 -12 inch long brass punch if you have it . I have used steel punchs as well .If you dont have a barrel vice to put the receiver into someone could hold it for you secured barrel down between their legs .
Place the punch on bayo lug or bottom of flashider and hit it hard.
Watch for the flashider to move forward against the castle nut and then back the castle nut off some more.
You have to hit it hard though to break the welds but then it moves easy after that. ...

I have taken off the one on my shorty and 3 other regular length ones like that with no damage to the flashider or rifle.

I just took my FH off over the weekend getting ready for Hungrys clinic in Tracy. They might do it in 5 minutes on the video, but it took me longer than that and Im still bleeding and I havent seen the cat for 2 days now. BFH nice piece of brass and bandages and your set. I never thought Id have to beat on it so hard but the bugger gave eventually.
Chinese QC might be a bit iffy but there welding is out of this world :))

And REMEMBER to keep loosening the castle nut, otherwise your just pi--ing in the ocean.
