Review of PolyTech M14 2009 Series (Ellwood Epps) $ 529 Black Synth Stock

OK , I gots to ask , --Anyone tested the hardness of these bolts , locking lugs or the recievers for durablity ??--- A few years ago I remember reading a "shootout " article in one of the U.S. gun rags a test between a Polytech M-14 & a Springfield . The first few pages , the Springfield was tested blah, blah , & then torture tested with a few thousand rounds, w/of course no probs.
Next Page was the Poly, & they pictured it in a garbage can ! The reasoning was that the headspace opened up after only a few hundred rds. that it was considered too dangerous to fire .
Hungry, any chance of that happening to these 2007's ??
If NO , I'll get the "M" card ready to ensure my #### will not fall off!!--as well as have peace of mind.

that article was by clint fulton who is HIGHLY BIASED- i have one of the very early norcs and no such problems exist- and i've been using it since 1990- and that atricle is still on the net, poisoning lots of other young minds like yours- fact is the new NORCS are LIGHT YEARS away in quality from those, and those were all polys shipped to the states- PROBABLY A BAD Run

Here are some pictures of my 3 M305's one is a very early Alan lever import, one is equipped with a AWB legal flash hider and my new Polymer Polytech baby

I joined the m14 club, I called and ordered a black one from epps today. Good thing I'm working OT this week.

Just got mine home from Epps today, pretty impressed with it so far I can see Poly really didn't want to be know for going light on the Cosmo! I should hopefully get a few rounds down the pipe tomorrow.

I'm thinking I need to "augment" :D my rifle collection.

These rifles are non-restricted and can shoot surplus 7.62 NATO (if you can find it) ammo?

Mine was ordered from moving target and there was no cosmoline on it at all? It was more like the oil my Russian SKS came packaged in and easily wiped off with a dry cloth.

My M91/30 on the other hand was gooed up something fierce and needed heat to get all the cosmoline off.

Mine came today, just 1 week later. $592.92 after taxes and shipping to the West coast. Nice looking gun. Now the search for accessories begins.

Had mine in a week or so. The barrel was WAY out of index. I had the local 'smith fix it up. The gas system isn't very well aligned now :p
but the gun still shoots, and well. :D.
Now I just need to start putting money into it.
Not becuase I really need to, but because i want to. Guns that are perfect out of the box are boring. :p

Trigger pull

Got mine Wed. Paid more than that for it from out west, but, the amazing thing is the match quality trigger pull, very smooth and crisp final. Love it, but I am asking myself why I paid way more than Epps from one of our sponsors out west.

x2 Very nice indeed. Mine also has an excellent trigger pull. First thing I did after getting it out of the box was, checked the pull. Breaks at just over 4.5lb and very nice, clean break. Also has a nice long ping. Glad I got one.

Got my 09 Poly in yesterday and stripped it down this morning. Having had an M1A for the last 9 years, I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about with these new chinese rifles. DAMN, am I ever impressed with the machining!!!!:D:D:D . And all forged steel!!!!!:D:D:D I cant wait to get this Poly to the range! And yes, it pings.
