RFB - best.. rifle.. ever.

we must have different opinions on "very nice" to come in under the price of an RFB with glass and ammo. I bought the RFB because it was a cheaper hunting alternative to buying another sauer, blaser, heym, etc.

What's wrong with a steyr scout? optics are stagnant price whatever you put on your rfb can also go on the scout. The scout is a less expensive, arguably more reliable, almost certainly more accurate, and has a delightful set trigger and weighs 6.6lbs vs 8.1lbs, and is a couple hundred bucks cheaper, also has a built in bipod(although how good this bipod is I'm not too sure, you can mount a good bipod nonetheless), simpler takedown, requires no gas system adjustments(chamber a round, lock bolt, shoot, unlock bolt, pull back, repeat), or mag filing.

Again I'm really not trying to start a fight, but I do have to wonder why the rfb. You want it because you like how it looks I really can't argue that. That's personal preference and you are entitled to be wrong, just kidding haha, it's 100% your call and no one can tell you otherwise, but as for the actual performance merits I'm not too convinced. It's an expensive rifle, when I fork over that kind of money for a rifle I expect it to work right off the bat.

Different people, different opinions I guess. As long as you are happy, I'm happy for you. My opinion, I will probably get into hunting eventually, and unless their qc sh*ts the bed, I will get myself a nice steyr scout with a nice optic on it. Again, not trying to start a fight, just trying to see the line of reasoning behind it.

Funny you should say..........I have a steyr scout as well that wears a zeiss diavari 5-15x42 (no set trigger though and I would gladly have bought on with that option as I am still looking for one to replace it with)

Even with the increased weight I can still shoulder the RFB for longer and more accurately than the scout.

My scout and RFB have both worked flawless since I bought them so reliability of either to me is not a concern

Well no I see your not wanted to start a fight and yes I also respect your opinion. Yes the scout seems to be a great firearm but I really want a semi auto... some people really want v8 other a car with a turbo...

Wow this thread has wandered so far off track. For those interested I stumbled upon a very good review (49 minutes) done by TNP on YouTube. It is under the channel of Nutnfancy and is entitled KelTec RFB Full Review: One of a Kind. It is their observations in running four RFB's for 2.5 years. Bottom line is they would trust the rifle with their lives in battle. I tend to give more weight to their review than some of the inane posts I have seen in this thread.

Holy thread resurrection batman, this thread was going the way of the Dodo.

It's personal preference. Is the RFB my cup of tea, no. And seriously, who cares what a "review" says anyway. The rifle is each individual too, just because "that one" was the embodiment of perfection doesn't mean rifle serial #2 isnt a bad egg.

My 2cents, please don't respond back. I don't care.

That can be said of any item in existence so I think your post means pretty much nothing.

Most RFB's work just fine. Those that don't are typically being used by someone too lazy to read the manual and understand the gas system.
The RFB isn't for everyone but that doesn't mean it's not a good rifle. If you want a compact 308 semi auto then it's your only option. If you don't care about the short length then you have a couple options.

Personal preference.

I will second that, I got sucked in to buying a couple things because of a good review on this site, never again. People on here tend to be very biased to price more than quality, take almost any price point firearm and there is countless people giving it two thumbs up on here.

I agree, I would have never expected anyone to say the Norinco AR was any good other than to say most of them work but there are quite a few posts on here saying they are a great rifle and some are even so delusional they compare them to quality AR's.

I do on the other hand take into consideration reviews by guys like nutnfancy as he video documents them and has reviewed hundreds of rifles and handguns. His reviews are not like the ones on here where it is the guys first rifle he's ever owned and is making all kinds of statements about it and how reliable it is after a whopping 50 rounds.

Meh to each there own! I don't care! For what I really use my rfb, witch is hunting ; I would not trade it for a xcr, 308 ar or fak even if they were all non restricted!

If you all want to enter your lala land of fantasies about ww3, zombies and call of duty! You can take what ever tickles your day dreaming fancy! But for me for my real world use my rfb is MY perfect hunting gun forthe hhunting I AM doing :p

... now this as ben betten way past death so lets give it a rest:p
Guns are cool
