RFB initial thoughts, Range report ***JANUARY 31st ammo test at bottom of OP***

I've always wondered what it felt like to get thrown under the on-line bus. Thanks Epoxy7, now I know!

The wheels on the Internet go round and round.

On a side note keep pestering fireball to complete the review. I just gave him a bunch of free ammo to test. Federal gold old and new, Winchester, fusion, some possibly Canadian military surplus etc.

He has ADD if he isn't bugged hourly he'll quickly forget and concentrate on his other hobby, interpretive dance. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but who wants to wait.

That would have to be one hell of a dance to make it worth the wait.

Has anyone done any real accuracy testing on these rifles yet?

:)

Considering there are only about 9 out there right now it's not that surprising there hasn't been much testing. Plus the weather has been crap in most places. When it clears up I suspect you'll see a lot more.

Yup, delay of game due to weather........and apparently interpretive dance.f:P:

Had too look than one up.
Did you learn that one on the Discovery channel or did it come on the list of alternative lifestyle stuff supplied at horsey riding school ?:D

My horse runs on premix  not oats and ghay:cool:

In the world or just in Canada... :p

I figured there had to be range reports from owners in the States these rifles should have been out long enough down there that there must be info.

Google is my friend I'll check it out...

;)

I picked up my RFB on the 30th but I haven't had a chance to get out to PoCo yet. I can confirm that this rifle looks and feels top quality. The mag that shipped with it inserts easily with light pressure and falls free. The trigger is WAY better than the trigger on my Tavor. Based on dry firing, I'd also put it ahead of my SL8 but behind the TikTac trigger. The trigger really is amazing given that it's a bullpup.

I have a bunch of well used FN metric mags and they are tough to seat. One inserts and locks in with no problems, 5 need a solid smack on the base plate to lock in and they don't drop free, one pretty much needs to be hammered in, and the last one is hopeless.

Hopefully, things will slow down for me a bit and I'll finally be able to add my range report to the others.

<cheap shot>
Now that I have a "Man's" bullpup, I may not have a use for my Tavor any more. Hmmm, I'm guessing I could trade the Tavor for another RFB;)

I couldn't get one surplus mag to seat either. It was too wide for the mag well so I stomped on it. It fits great now! Feeding is another story.

:( Frigging snow blizzard here not much visiblity. Can't make my trip out to break her in. Going to half to wait about 10 days before I can again work 9 shifts straight starting tomorrow.

There are currently just over 1000 RFB world wide right now. Gunblast did a review a while ago. There are also a few others out there on forums. Not so many accuracy reviews however because it's the carbine version. I'd expect a lot to show up with the 24" or 32" target models. One of the guys from Kel-Tec was saying the 32" target gets 3/4 moa with 168 federal Gold. That was on one of the other forums.

32" barrel?? I would think the harmonics of such a long unsuported barrel would kill accuracy not help it in a bulpup config.

Now I know for sure you guys are RFB fanboys :) The RFB would be a joke with a 24" barrel and it would be a serious comedy with a 32"

LOL!

No, your a fanboy becasue you think a 24" and 32" barrel is going to turn a Bulpup semi auto into a sniper platform. Companies like KAC and LMT who have proven track records came to the conclusion that long barrels offered no advantage on their semi .308 platforms but I guess Kel-tec with their superior enginering and track record know better.

Bulpups have really one advantage and sticking long barrels on it makes that disapear and thus becomes a comedy.

I dont hate you or Kel-tec but I dont waste bandwith with OMG OMG OMG its almost here over and over like you do.
