You can spray the Krylon paint into on of the airbrush glass jars and spray it through your airbrush.The Krylon is all ready thinned.

How close do you get to the crown on the barrel?
I just a a 22 recrouned as it was prety banged up from years of general mistreatment by my uncle, and had the rust and pitting blasted on the outside, but I just cant justify $200 to have it reblued, and the DIY kits scare me. I have worked in an aero paint shop though, so I'm good with precision coatings and such, so I think paint is the way to go for me.

I painted mine with Arma-Coat, worked great. The guy who painted mine is a top notch body shop owner who does expensive customs. (Painting a Cuda worth BIG $ at the time he helped me out with my stock).
He said that all those styles of paints are Polyunrithane based enamel. Good paints but the hardener is toxic. He offered (being the really nice guy he is) to paint my stock for me after I did the prep work.
Anyhow, it turned out great, seems durable. Remember, your painting it so it will be vulnerable to some degree.
The more coats you use with these types of paints, the longer your full cure time will be.

Tape off the stock.
I taped off the whole channel which houses the action & barrel, also the section where the bottom metal sits. Paint, wait 8-10 hours, then remove tape.
Don't paint over your bedding. If its done correctly, it will only have about .0001" clearance around the recoil lug. If you paint this you could cause yourself some grief.

So I tried my hand at painting a few mags with Kyrlon, one on the left, first try, didn't bake, the other I baked after every coat and I think it looks a lot better. Question: what, if anything can I coat this with so the paint stays on?
Hey Rohann, don't get turned off by one bad paint job. I just finished mine and I'm about as rookie as it gets for painting. Took me all of an hour, $10 for paint, and $1 for masking tape.

For digital patterns i would go with whatever skullboy says as he has done alot and they look damn good. You can certainly do a digital pattern with krylon and some stencils but the colours do tend to bleed a bit. The black camo krylon as a thinner consistency then the rest of the cam line.

Here's my first attempt at a camo pattern. My stencils came from the back yard. Don't know how it measures up to the digital tactical look but I think it will do the job, have to wait for the snow to see (if I still own it).
I did a complete disassembly and blast job before painting, so every inch on it has a white base coat. I used Dura-coat paint but only because I had bought the stuff before Arma-coat had come along. (I try to support Canadian companies when ever I can, notice the maple leaf eh!)
This gun and another are up for sale in the EE form.
