Consistent chamber dimensions
Huge selection of brass. Quality brass
Exceptional factory ammunition selection
Excellent consistency and factory rifle selection
Proper twist rates in all offerings
Adoption by SOCUM
30 degree shoulder angle
Mag box breathing room

I can see why people hate it. What am I missing?

With all these on paper benefits, why haven't you killed with it?
Is it because you have better hunting cartridges? With potentially more recoil?

In a lightweight compact package, the 6.5 loses its appeal for long range hunting. Sure you could get a desert tech srs in 6.5, but at that point I would just go 338 lapua in the same chassis as it gives you longer range and handles wind variables better in big game hunting situations all for very little extra weight. You could even go to a covert (18") with the 338, be lighter and shorter than the 6.5 and still out perform it at extended ranges on big game.
 
Less recoil is a benefit near the top of the list for target shooting.
For a hunting rifle it’s pretty much a non factor, within reason.
Kinda like a 6.5 creedmoor.

I will happily put a lot of money on my CM killing every single big game animal I hit with it this fall. Are you willing to take that bet?

Did you just get the 6,5 CM this month? Or are you going to use it next year to prove something to a stranger on an Internet forum?
 
Now if you said you will kill every legal animal you see within 1000yds out in the woods this season with the 6.5, that would be a bet. If you don't see anything, bet is off
 
I'm thinking of getting a 6.5 not sure what flavour but I don't want a magnum, I have plenty of magnums already. I want something pleasant to shoot and want to shoot it a lot and stay on target so I can spot my shots. Which short action 6.5 should I get, I'm not really into reloading so would need a good supply of factory ammunition. I was thinking of a 260 rem or the 6.5 creedmoor, which one would have the advantage over the other for shooting paper targets at 1000 yds and deer at 400-500 yds. Also why did the US Military choose the 6.5 creedmoor over the 260 rem. cheers :)

Well if someone limits themselves to a short action 6.5, doesn't want a magnum and doesn't reload, there's not much left for choices really. I'd say you need to expand your horizons a bit.

I'm thinking about trying a new breakfast cereal, I don't like rice or corn, but I do like bran, and I would prefer flakes to chunks, also... I would like a little sweetness, so I am thinking that some fruit would be good, but I don't like apples or berries, but I really like raisins... also purple is my favourite colour... which cereal should I get???

Fruitloops and try mixing in some frosted flakes. The flakes arguing on this thread is fruitless, same bunch every time.
