Thinking of taking a dremel to the side rails and just leaving the top + fore-end. Thoughts?

It's one of those cheapy reflex sights from flea-bay. It really works quite well though one of the reticle modes doesn't work any more. It wasn't my favorite one so I'm not that worried about it. I think I paid about $50 bucks shipped for it a couple of years ago so I have definitely got my moneys worth. Yuck.

I bought two of those about a year ago on a tip that they were a good sight for sighting in with, so I wasn't expecting much.

Well, to put it briefly, one died completely and totally after 23 shots (I counted) from my .22lr.

The other one held up to the recoil forces, however after experiencing extreme zero change issues, (talking 6" at 15' from benchrest) I found that even during dry fire the optic reticle would adjust noticeably and significantly in the glass.

I will NEVER touch one again even if I was paid to take one.

Very cool little gun! Can you tell us a little about what you did? Still non restricted?

I ended up going with a 10 and 7/8" green mountain bull barrel. I pinned the Nomad stock to it can no longer fold(no one folds it anyways) over all length is 27" so yes its still non restricted :) The gun feels like a tank, a bit on the heavy side. i believe the bull barrel is the same weight as the stock barrel even being 8" shorter! I modified a airsoft g36 RIS aluminum fore end to work with the nomad kit. pain in the ass. but totally worth it. It looks awesome and I can put way more lasers and flashlights on it ! JK. next mod is probably a trigger system of some sort.

Kind of like this? I can't tell you how much better I like it now. Well worth the effort.

Bingo. Good to see it done before breaking out the dremel myself! The quad rail is nice and all, but it's just a little too....tacticool for my liking with this one. :p

*edit* by "this one" I mean my own rifle. Yours looks sweet!

Very cool, looks like a lot of fun! Do you mind me asking roughly how much you have invested in little devil?

just shot about 170 rounds through it, it preferred the round nose over the hollow point.

My old Cooey 75, my first gun ever - birthday present from my Dad in 1956 - finally decided it should get some TLC. Took some time & effort but:
