Just got off the phone with the guy. Cool dude. Still got a hint of his newfie accent, so do I lol. Thinking about going next year and doing Precision 1 and 2 courses. Anybody ever gone and if so what do you think? Ill be renting his gear as I have none of my own.

Thanks.

As usual too much to hope for a mature answer on cgn.

As you said: this is CGN. :)

I think renting his gear is a good idea (obviously if you have no gear it's a no brainer). One might expect his gear to be good quality and somewhat tuned. More time to concentrate on learning what he has to teach than worrying about if your rifle is performing correctly?

Having met Rob in person at Shot Show last year, and having done business with him I can attest that he is a great guy to deal with.

A shooting buddy has taken the Level 1 and Level 2 precision rifle courses and raves about his experience with Rob and his instructors.

His academy uses top notch gear for rentals......Cadex rifles, Leupold optics, Hornady Match ammunition and JSA Tactical shooting bags.

I took Rob's Precision 1 course last year. It was first rate in all respects.

Rob and his team provide one on one hands on training. There is a good mix of classroom and range time.

Rob is a good guy and gives his all in every class.

It is WELL worth the money and was both a fun and educational experience. Highly recommended.

The best part of the course is when he pees on you.

But seriously, I've never had him pee on me.

He got fired for the peeing incident. However, there are officers in Canada that have done far worst and have kept their jobs. Such as firing a pistol through a hotel room ceiling, or obvious excessive force. After all his military training and 11 years as a cop, you would have thought that he had that juvenile stuff out of his system. However, he was wasted drunk... Ive done stupid stuff too so... Ill forgive him for that we all make mistakes.

Should one rent his gear or buy the rifle you want ( not sure what i want) and get use to it and learn your own gear during the course... rather then be spoiled by a expensive cadex rig?

If I went I would take my own gear and use it.

But some don't have that luxury, or want to try out some high end gear.

The knowledge learned can be used with any shooting rig.......
