Robarms XCR FAQ post

Uncle ben have you looked at the fired casings? I used a heavy sticky oil on the hammer pivot pin this summer, it caused primers to burst. Tiny circles were laying in the reciever, one got into the chamber and caused the bolt to stick also. Afterwords I intentionally tested back and fourth from a very thin light oil called tri-flow to the heavy oil. Everytime, the heavy oil caused blowouts. Now with the temperature dopping even a medium weight oil will be thickening some. Could be worth taking a look at. I dumped about 200 ends lastnight with no problems either. Was -22 or -26 at the house, 2hrs later and a couple thousand feet higher, who knows what temp, mabey -30's. Didn't feel like it though.

How can you tell (without firing it) if an XCR has the new trigger set?
Is there a date stamp on them?

no date or serial number but if you go to the XCR forum, you'll find pictures of the different triggers.
The trigger weight is a good indication too: if you think the safety is on when it's not: you've got the old one :D

I run the lower dry and grease on the bolt and no issue yet.
Unless you are concerned by corrosion I wouldn't oil/grease anything in the lower, especially with sub-zero temp.

But I would like to know the relation between oil on the hammer pin and blowing primers

I have narrowed my search down to the stock adaptor from NEIT and the Magpul Milspec CTR, looks like I need a buffer tube, is there buffer tubes that cushion some recoil or are they all rigid? I wouldnt mind one that softens the recoil, what is best?
Thanks

unless I completely misunderstand this, I'm almost completely positive it is firm, with no movement in the buffer tube, and on an AR15 it just houses the spring, etc. Problem with having it 'cushion' is that you'd then have wiggle/movement in the stock, which would not be good.

The buffer tube is only so the stock can collapse. On an AR it helps cycle the action.

I just installed the NEIT Arms folding adaptor for the standard stock. It introduces a bit of wobble into the stock. That is unfortunate. It was also a ##### to install. They didn't include a 50 cent replacement roll pin. I had to first go look for a punch which fit the hole (I ended up using a 1/8" punch that I filed down until it fit). After that I managed to get the pin out, but it took me trips to 3 stores to find a replacement roll pin. And the anodizing doesn't match the factory black.

But, it does fold nicely.

I'll post pics later. I like it, but I'm not sure I like it 128$ (incl. shipping).

Anyone know if c-products (or anyone else) has come up with a 20/5 or 30/5 pinned magazine in 7.62x39 yet and if they are available up north?

Thanks

EDIT:

Heres a review of the mag in question. It also comes in 10 rd versions that are not as banana shaped.

The face is threaded to take a bolt that can be backed out to remove all wobble. Send us a PM with our address and we will get one right out.

edited - the screw is only nessesary if you experience wobble in the stock when locked open.

I didnt have any burst primers. The ejector leaves a dent on the brass, but that's it.

bought some gunzilla CLP for my XCR, nice stuff!

I got ahold of some C-products 6.5 grendel 5/20 mags from questar... they work %100 with the 7.62x39 xcr. Questar is currently sold out and have no plans of bringing more in due to limited demand. Anyone who wants another mag option for thier x39 xcr should start bugging the boys at questar to get more in!

Why don't you just contact C-Products directly and ask them if they have stock or if they can make up the mags for you?

I have ordered directly from them several times now they ship direct as long as the order is under $100.00...

Have you ordered 7.62X39 mags from them? I have been unsuccessful with ordering any from them, since they do not lance any of these mags, as of yet. From talking with their export guy/military sales guy, they are looking at trying to figure out how to properly lance these ones, while not affecting function. In an email, I mentioned how if they were available, they would sell like hot cakes here and Canada, and he said he was MORE THAN aware of all the XCR's in Canada, and the number of people who would be interested. Time will tell...

I'd like to run an AR style stock, would using a folding stock conversion make the rifle restricted?
Any experience with which stock replacement kits are best?

Thanks much!

It will be legal unless you shorten the barrel. I can't comment on the various adapters.
