Robarms XCR FAQ post

like bass guitar. haha

also... just saw how much those elcans go for! the coffee has not left my lungs and nostrils yet. how well does the BDC work with the 18.6 barrel?

also quick question to keep the FAQ on track :
I've noticed my bolt sticks/binds half through the cycle if I ride the charging handle.
I don't do this often, but I generally release the bolt slowly on an empty chamber. I don't recall it doing this before the 200 rounds of break-in. any suggestions? its well oiled, my extractor is tight.

Ahaha, yeah right! I should have thought so!

As for the price of the Elcan, sorry for your nostrils! :D Just wait for a nice sale or if you can find a deal... Got mine for 1100$ CAN. Even though, they worth the dough! :p

As for the BDC, I didn't had the chance to go shoot my XCR past 200 meters.

So for the BDC, tip of the chevron was dead center @ 100 meters (Zeroed @ 100 meters).

For 200 meters, it's supposed to be around the middle of the chevron.

For the 300 meters mark, it's the tip of the black vertical line or if you want, the tip of the chevron's legs...

Otherwise, the BDC lines for 400 meters up to 800 meters are supposed to work.

As for your question about the bolt sticking back, i've already answered the question on the XCR Forum (5.56 section)...

I'll quote you what I wrote:

Finally! I'm happy to see that i'm not the only one to have this screw/brass deflector problem...

When I first received my rifle, it was jamming a lot, for an unknown reason... Specially after a few dozen rounds (when heat expends metal parts)...
After cleaning and lubing everything up, I still had that kind of "bolt-back" jam...

I took a snake-camera to get into the chamber and watch the action go...
I found out that the screw from the brass deflector was protruding into the chamber and hitting the extractor of the bolt, everytime I make the rifle cycle...

Took the brass deflector's screw out, like "dont_tread_on_me" said before, counted the number of threads that was getting into the chamber.
Took the Dremel and a pair of pryers, took me around 2 minutes to get 3 threads off the screw...

Reassembled the damn thing, cycled a few times and it was working great... Went to the range later and it was working flawlessly, shooting rounds after rounds after rounds...

I'm wondering why they put a screw so long... Did they forget to drop a washer in or does the brass deflectors were made too thin?

That "thread" should be a sticky, because I think a lot of XCR owners got this issue...

ahh many thanks Z. i should wander over to the xcr forum more often..
one can only hope that he finds one kicking around for such a price.

My XCR in 5.56 has arrived (yea!)

A couple of issues I have noticed: the bolt hold open that runs up behind the mag-well has a wedge on top with a forward pointing tab. That tab can pivot out the top round when the mag is inserted - on both C-product and LAR15 mags.
has anybody else had this?
it looks like I will have to file that back, or not seat the rounds to the back of the mag.

Other issue is the BUIS, has anyone replaced the MI's with ones with a fibre optic front post, I'm also looking for something lower profile to get nearer to the bore profile.

thanks, zeb

Today it broke :(

Ok so after 600 rounds of no problems, no failures, today it broke down. It turns out a piece in the trigger assembly broke.

Needless to say I am superpissed. This shouldnt happen and a mil spec gun should have issues like that. Sadly, what the haters say about the XCR is at least partially true.

Still I like the rifle, but reliability is questioned.

Yah, that sucks. But let us know more.

Random failure of one single part is hard to predictable.

Ok here we go:

The red arrow points at the piece that broke off. It broke off of the piece just left of the safety cylinder. You can see a round shape where a spring was located and left of it the breaking point.

The piece looks cast (not sure) maybe something beefy machined from nice tough steel may be better. Maybe I will make one.

I emailed Robarms last night and this morning I had an email offering to send me a new part right away. So lots of credit to the customer service. There was no dicking around so far! :)

I just realize that the break should have turned the rifle into fully auto .. however it didnt. When the piece broke it rapidfired two rounds and then wouldnt really fire anymore. The broken piece got stuck under the trigger piece so that may also have prevented the gun from firing.

More updates when more parts or info come in.

Aw man that would have been a BETTER day at the range if it "accidentally" went full auto on you for a few mags!!...hehe.

Glad to hear that RobArms was quick on the service. You going to have a smith replace the part?

Range? An unrestricted black rifle has no business shooting holes in paper at a range :D

I think I will to the repair myself and if it fails I will bring a bag with little pieces to a smith for fixing ...

We now have many options of stock adaptors. The latest AR stock adaptor is my favorite but still not folding.

I think I heard a canadian manufacturer was designing a ACR folding stock adaptor. Which company is it and do we have any update?

I already received a replacement (free of charge) from Wolverine! Installation took 5 minutes and the XCR is ready to go :)

Kick ass service from Wolverine!

Glad to hear that your situation got taken care of :)

I was wondering if anyone who is using the Dlask stock adapter could tell me whether I will need a mil-spec or a commercial buffer tube? Thanks!
