Robarms XCR FAQ post

I see your in Vancouver. If you can stop by Dlask with your barrel and brake, Jo would be able to tell you immediately what thread you have.

Good advice. I just sent them an email to get a quote on fluting my barrel. I'll just get them to figure it out when I get the work done.

Okay, so I went and saw Joe at Dlask and my barrel is in fact 1/2-28 so the NEA brake is threaded improperly. I guess I'll send it back to One Shot and try to get a refund. On an other note Joe is going to turn down my barrel to a government profile behind the gas block and flute the front. Should be done early in the new year. When I get it back I'll post some pictures.

Sounds like your brake might be threaded for the CZ858. Look forward to seeing pics of your barrel when it is done.

This should shed some light. I do believe I robberized this from XCRforums.

Just wondering about the legalities and technicalities assoiciated with me having a short, light barrel made or if I buy one for my non restricted XCR? This would ONLY be installed and used at the shooting range but for obvious reason I want to keep my XCR non restricted. I do hold a RPAL!

Anybody done this, if so where did you aquire the barrel?

Thanks

Hmmm good question. You should contact the CFC-RCMP as it's a grey section of the law.

For myself, I also own a Ruger 10/22 with the Krinker Plinker kit on it [krinkerplinker.com].

As you can see, the rifle looks like a "AKS-74U Krinkov" and gets a folding stock and 2 barrels.
One short barrel with a ½ x 28 tpi tread at the end of the barrel to fit the Krinkov Muzzlebrake or a fake can.
Also there is a longer barrel that comes with the kit which you can also screw a fake can on it.

When I bought the kit, they included a little 10mm pin with a letter. In that letter it stated that for Canadian Customers, you have to install this pin permanently into the stock (so it stays open) if you want to install the shorter barrel so the firearm can stay Non-Restricted. As for the second barrel (the longer one), you can fold the stock, as even folded it is respecting the legal lenghts for non-restricted.

SO... When I talked with someone at the CFC, they told me I have to pin the stock, if I want to install the shorter barrel so it stays non-restricted. If ever I wanted to have the short barrel WITH the folding stock working, I'll have to call them to change the status of the firearm from non-restricted to restricted... :ang

From their Point Of View, even if you're shooting at the shooting club, the minute you install the shorter "restricted" barrel, your rifle becomes restricted and you have to advise the CFC-RCMP. :(

Doesnt sound worth it to me lol, thanks for your input.

Has anyone had problems with a 7.62x39 XCR not ejecting the Czech surplus? The rifle in question ejects everything else at a low gas setting but not the surplus.

I used to. It would fire, but then be followed by a hard extraction. On ANY setting. Turned out the gas port wasn't drilled to spec. Wolfgang Kuentzel (spelling?) at Wolverine sorted it out good. Ran pretty much flawlessly since (about 800-1000rnds)

Good luck figuring it out.
