Robarms XCR FAQ post

Without me yanking the flash hider off my XCR-M does anyone know what the thread size is?

Thanx in advance.

Edit. Stupid me. It's right in the manual 5/8-24.

Herron Arms could fix that for you with a .50beo custom barrel and a 7.62x39 bolt if I understand the case dimensions right. However shooting .50beowulf might cause all of that loctite to come loose :p :stirthepot2:.

you prob would need a new upper receiver for that with the ejection port milled out for a little more space to allow the over sized brass to eject.

if ian was able to retain the adjustable gas block I highly doubt the locktite would rattle loose ;)

Anyone know if the proposed AWB in he US will affect the XCR?

It was not listed by name but it does exhibit more than a single feature as described in the "assault weapon" list of scary features. I don't think they will get this AWB through congress as it stands. They can only hope to get some of the background checks & other window dressing. Maybe they will succeed in limiting mag capacity.

"Shall not be infringed"; i.e., no infringements! :)

Hmmm, interesting question. I wonder would a SCAR rail extension work on the XCR? I have no idea if the widths are close or not. What you thinking? To give the XCR-L barrel a more proportional/shorter look? I like it. You couldn't possibly need more rail space could you ;) lol joking but am interested in this aswell.

I'm looking into some general knowledge for it because 1) The barrel does look awkwardly long, 2) I like to have my hand farther forward when holding a black rifle, and 3) a NR black rifle would be nice (it'll still have quirks for a lefty though).

And the SRX won't work without some MAJOR modifications (I think, I don't know how to disassemble an XCR) because the SRX requires replacing the 'yoke' on the SCAR. here's the official PWS installation video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIRjOjA3VxI

EDIT: Ok,from what I've seen of the XCR, IF the rails of the SRX were right size a new bracket/yoke would need to be made for it.

I am too! :)

Hey Chizzy, what king of optics so you have on here, looks cool. How's your accuracy and distance?

Actually I used this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dO81IojJ6A) video as a reference, so to me, a system like an AR-15 modular rail, like the DD Modular Float rail (https://danieldefense.com/modular-float-rail-9-0.html). bolting the rail extension to the slots in the handguard (at the 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 10:30 positions). Sorry another question: What's the shortest length barrel you can get on a XCR while keeping it NR.

Lol I know I was just simplifying ;) Figured it might turn into a I've seen shorter barrels on the Internet or some miss informed individually stating overal length or something to that nature.

Armorers Guide

I found this armorers course that was published by Robinson Arms. I figured it would be a good addition to this thread.

Its dated 2010, but it has the old style trigger group, stock and such. It does have some very interesting information.

The 18.6" is the CDN model to meet NR requirements. XCR were a lot cheaper in the States but 16" models defeating the XCR's primary purpose of being NR.

Ah, ok. I don't suppose an AR-15 stock/adaptor would stretch out the OAL of and XCR would it?

Oops, kinda forgot this (^) post . So is there a rifle OAL minimum length or not? Sorry, our gun laws are... confusing to me still.

Someone needs to make a extended front rail the goes over the gas block like the one for the scar
