Rossi Ranch Hand full-size stock G/B ~ UPDATE - Feb 15/2013

I spoke to Rich tonight. He hopes to be shipping the base stocks this week. Those that are getting finished will be a little while longer.

Boomer I hope he finishes yours first. You deserve it.

When I talked to him on Jan 15, he indicated he was finishing the rough work that week.
He said the stocks that were to be finished would go with his helper back to that persons home for the final sanding and finish.
I expected him to be shipping the unfinished stocks, like mine, by the 21st.
Give it two weeks to get here and it should be arriving this week or next.

So, I was hoping to see my unfinished stock sometime around now. I am giving him one more week and then will call again.

But I agree, lack of information from him is causing this to become very bad for all involved.

I gotta agree with Boomer 74 that 6 fricking months is far too long for these stocks to be made and sent out.
An almost total lack of communication from Rich,as well as the lame-ass excuses for not getting work
completed leads me to conclude that this guy is a flake, and I'm considering demanding a refund as well.

It's not any fault on Boomer 74's part. He was just hoping to get a decent set of stocks at a good
price without having to order down south, like the rest of us.

As for this thread, it looks like it may have to be moved to the FRAUD REPORTING forum unless
we get action from Rich soon!

I waited 9 months for a AAA Walnut stock from Richard's... And they are a large company. This guy probably got overwhelmed by the order... If he is trying to do them all at the same time, it would take this long for sure... He should do them in batches of three to completion and get some shipped... Everyone would feel better if some of the customers had the stocks in hand and posted some positive reports about his work.

My first guess was that Rich got overwhelmed with orders. The crappy part of this whole deal is the lack of communication on the part of the stockmaker with his customers. If they are a large company, then they should have someone on board who can assign work orders and respond to customer inquiries. Hell, the guy never even gave me an invoice # for reference.

This is bush.

I spoke with him on Friday, he was very sick and medicated over the past few weeks.

That said I agree with others here, I have been waiting for 6 months as well, terrible communication, I will keep waiting... impatiently....

At a risk of sounding cold hearted; he's had a few untruths coming from him already. Suddenly we are to believe what is put forth as the latest excuse?
I talked with him 1st week in Nov and he assured me mine would be there at the end of the month.
Everyone involved in this has shown great patience and manners. Which is cool as we can get updates & being that no-one has gone crazy; it hasn't been locked down yet. For this I thank all involved and the Moderators as well.
Sincerely; no half arsed attempt at sarcasm. I mean it.
I don't know that I'm going to press for a refund; I've waited almost 6 months now; I don't see the refund being easy to obtain either.
I'm just going to wait for the stock , with not much optimism on it happening.

It's too bad you can't get Rossi parts in Canada. My Rossi Ranch Hand And my Rossi 92 Trapper have less than a 2000 numerical spread in their serial numbers and all prefixes are the same so it is the same basic receiver with a 12 inch barrel ;bigger loop and different butt stock.
A Rossi model R 92 carbine butt stock should swap on it with minimal fitting which would be due to due to Rossi's EXCELLENT(sarcasm) machining.
Has anyone contacted Steves Guns , the Rossi guy in the States about stocks?
I was going to go it alone with this gentleman you are talking about but I never got any replies to my inquiry's by phone or email so I decided to look for other options.

Wes

Rossi should send Canadians both stocks for a small surcharge but that's not going to happen because everything seems to flow through the US instead of coming direct from Brasil. If I'm going to have to order a stock I'd rather get walnut over what ever they use in Brasil.
There are US stock makers that can ship a suitable stock north in less then a few weeks for just over $100. It's nice to give a Canuck the opportunity but I think this guy is in way over his head and living in a fantasy world as far as timelines are concerned.
Hopefully the end results will be worth it for you guys!

Well, I didn't even get a chance to call Rich this week.

With the hours I've been working & the time-difference, I couldn't phone at a reasonable hour.

But with G.Mitchell having spoke to him (and the response he got), I'll give him another week before calling.

Severly disappointed...
